The game just throws all combat and traversal mechanics at you from the very beginning and expects you to have mastered everything already. This is not a soul-like game but a kind of game with artificial difficulty. Beautiful art and smooth combat, tho.

And the tutorial is presented in a poor, lazy way. Mostly annoying! Damn i was looking forward to it after it left the EA. Sadly i dont want to continue and i cant experience what’s the rest of the game has to offer.

i think this is a nice on sale pick up. if u dont mind "loose" metroidvanias or the modern 2d action side scrollers that come in all flavors. well this one is a bit of a weird game. but thats why i like it. its like that first time you try a blackberry as a kid and you think its kinda nasty and the texture of the seeds inside is bad. and then you grew up and realized putting them things in a smoothie can be phenomenal. is this game phenomenal... maybe not. but it does bring a lot to the table, and some of the on the edge of your seat moments it brings are incredible. its fun on controller and keyboard-like controllers. i think its strenuous on your hands on controller tho. but some people will be fine with that.

overall i do have some love for this game. it has a nice nod to platformer lovers. i want to see more metroidvanias go this route. there really hasnt been a game that has just blown up the fun of hollow knight path of pain for me. and im hoping future games from this dev, or like the celeste dev, or anyone really continue to push metroidvanias, and modern 2d indie action platformers to the limit. i feel like the genre has been coming up for years now, and megenta horizon, although not my usual cup of tea. has been a fine cup of tea at that.

great music, cute whimsical characters, an actual fun combo system. this game is high above dust for me hate to say it. id like to see where this developer goes. ggs.
