I love this game. Sure, it's grindy, but getting a village to work and produce everything you need is gratifying. It takes time and a good feel for the capabilities of the villagers to get stuff done efficiently. Villagers aren't self thinking entities as much as everyone wants them to be. You need to put resources in places that they recognise for them to grab them. Therefore having a sharp warehousing system is a must for every village. Happiness is an easy mechanism to navigate once you get a feel for the system too. 12 people in a cottage doesn't work well unless you have a heap of external buildings to raise the desirability (I find 8 per cottage is about right) and good working hours and resting hours keeps them positive.

A fair warning to all - this game will not instantly be satisfying. It's a constant battle of village bug finding. But if you enjoy the struggle and challenge of getting basics done right then you'll be fine. By your 3rd village attempt you'll have most of the small things figured out and every update they bring out will open new possibilities on how you can do it even better.

Waste of 15€ on another crafting survival EA. Buggy, slothenly slow paced and extremely grindy with nothing noteworthy to write home about. Graphics are passable, but the visual effects are either none existent or over the top flashbangs you get from skinning a damn zombie corpse.

You cannot skip night time by sleeping or heal properly before building a medicine hut, and god forbid the villagers do anything resembling work. Any issue they run into makes them give up on any labour and run up to you like headless chickens, which is unfathomably annoying to me personally. The lazy turds refuse to stay in village even if you dive into a shipwreck infested with wights, just to spite you and get in the way while fighting just because they can't find carrots outside their 1x1m designated gathering area or feel a tad bit thirsty with an overflowing water collector standing next to their houses.

To top it all off, buildings and clothing on your special needs tenants decay with no clear way to fix them which artificially adds difficulty on an already frustrating game. And naturally the game includes my favourite interaction method of holding a button for 3 seconds per every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ branch I need to pick up. But wait, isn't there a pick nearby function? Yes, one which has a range of an amputated duck. ♥♥♥♥ this, I'm much more inclined to go back to Conan Exiles at this point. At least it doesn't waste your time with absurdly bloated crafting costs and mentally challenged AI that roams outside the base at every given opportunity to piss away any tangible progress.

150 hrs in. Looks great. Solid game play and progression. Core game play loops are fun.
Yes, you make a village. yes there are bosses to kill. No the learning curve is not steep.
Early Access Warning - some combat jank and glitches, many AI and item jank - however, once you fulfil the gaps in supply and learn to layout buildings ... 'in a manner which does not inspire the villagers to jank out or run across the map' and find and fill gaps in supply chain, it it a wonderful Viking experience.
Combat is still good, despite the jank.
Villager/Villagers/Interactions and minigames - 10/10

Overall - Fill a MASSIVE gap in the Villager/Building/Survival genre. This game does it very well. Thanks Devs! Well worth the time and money! Great job!
