Snitches Get Stitches as a gameplay loop

Short & quick like most of Torture Star's publications. Gruesome, horrifying, darkly funny, obviously not a game to be taken seriously - it's hilarious showing the "Today: [you] unlocked 'Gottem: Kill all the school children'" achievement. The gameplay takes a little practice to get the hang of, but luckily there's a training level to teach you how to do everything. Or, rather it's more like learn-by-doing.

The difficulty of the game is that it's basically the same as Hotline Miami, except instead of dying instantly, you have to start over if any of your victims escape. With enough practice you can run the levels without ever getting detected (except for the few specific instances where the game forces you, which isn't a bad thing; it's mentioned in the training level that sometimes this happens & you have no choice but to rush your targets).

Got most of the achievements on my initial run, & I'm not really looking forward to doing the remaining ones (all score based; I got D- on literally all the levels except 2, and these require getting S on all of them) but it won't be too bad of a grind, I think. Like with everything, it's just getting used to the way the game works and expects you to play.

I liked this one! Like I said, very short & sweet, another bite-sized production from Puppet Combo. (Also so far the only Torture Star game I've played with the VHS filter on because WOW does this one look genuinely bad without it, & that's coming from someone who normally likes seeing the chunky graphics & being able to count all the polygons.) Play it on stream with some friends watching; it's a blast.

(Edit later in the day: I booted back up to get those last achieves, and yeah, they weren't difficult at all, throwing knife is OP)

On a moral level, this is one F'ed up game lol, but on the realism side, there are people out there that are mentally sick in the head like the guy in this game

The story is the character you play was raised as an orphan, he grew up to be a mentally unstable/sick man that takes orders from a Christmas tree to kill while dressed as Santa Clause

The game play is very arcade like, I did find it annoying at times when people escaped and had to restart the level, but the gameplay was just..... satisfying. Makes me question my sanity at times :)
