Week 1 - Update!

Hi!

It’s been 7 days since the launch of NAIAD! Over the past week, I’ve been fully focused on addressing your valuable feedback and lovely comments, quickly fixing bugs with small patches so you can continue the game as soon as possible.

Since the launch, I have made 6 patches! These are some of the improvements:

The most common fixes were related to achievements and collectibles:

Ep5: Missing Poem 1.
"Fish Master", "Duck Master" achievements.
"Oceanid" achievement.
"Guardian of the River" platinum achievement.
Some glitched fauna: Bear, Crocodile, Fox, etc.
Fishes not following Naiad in Ep11-4 due to a pathfinding bug.

I have also made some design improvements and added new options:
Ep6.2 - Windmill / Gate: I’ve improved this puzzle so it’s now easier to understand what needs to be done to open the gate.
New "Sharpen" accessibility option in the settings: This lets you adjust the level of visual sharpening/chromatic aberration (post-processing effects). You can choose between 3 levels: [off/half/normal], in case these effects cause any issues.
Frogs now won’t follow Naiad when transitioning to the next level, providing visual feedback that they should remain in their area, unlike the fishes.

There was an unusual bug reported by a player who couldn’t play the game at all due to no input response from the player character at the start of the game.
This was caused by a missing xInput library on Windows 7. Thanks to the player’s cooperation, sharing log files and recorded videos, I was able to quickly fix the issue! I really appreciate their involvement and patience!.

I have taken note of all your feedback. But unfortunately, I haven’t been able to address all of the suggested changes yet. Some suggestions require more development time and testing thoroughly to ensure nothing else gets broken. I will continue working on future updates with all of this in mind:
Sun-Rays spots: Always show the growing sequence (even after completing the game).
Input remapping and support for non-QWERTY keyboards.
Guitar puzzle improvement.
Input: Tank controls.

Cannot progress from episode 16-5

This text is written using a translation tool. I am playing in the Japanese version. Cannot progress from episode 16-5. After I finish collecting all the pieces of light, the progress guide is no longer displayed. I thought I could get the last note at this point...? :/ There is nothing around the circle of notes. Guitar puzzle help

Edited: You seemingly just have to try to hit the right notes in sequence with what the guitarist plays. The system on controller and mouse/keyboard is very finicky though, and difficult to hit right. But if you keep trying, hopefully it'll work.

This update is very special for me. Because NAIAD is finally getting ready to be released very soon!

After all the time I've dedicated to creating this game, this is a very exciting and meaningful moment!

And I have some good news that I can't wait to share with you...

In just a few days, there will be news about the official release date!

A game entirely created by a solo developer...

It’s been over a year since my last update here, and first of all, I wanted to apologize for my absence.

During all this time, I’ve been fully focused on the continuous development of the game, putting all my effort into improving and completing the experience in NAIAD. This has involved making some decisions, like stepping back from social media a bit (which, honestly, has been somewhat confusing and overwhelming lately).

Meanwhile, a few people expressed that the project had been canceled and that the game wasn't progressing. Despite my messages clarifying that this wasn’t the case, others might have assumed the worst. On the other hand, I’ve received many supportive messages/emails showing interest in NAIAD and in the developer behind it. I can't thank you enough! These words mean the world to me.

NAIAD has not only NOT been canceled, in fact, it has progressed more than ever. I haven’t stopped working, always making sure to put my very best into this game.

In addition to continuing to care for every detail...:

A lot of new content has been added.
New areas to explore.
Hidden secrets to discover.
The visual appearance has been further improved.
NAIAD can now learn new skills, such as breaking rocks by singing, and more!
Many levels have been redesigned and completed to include more things to do.
More behaviors for the humans and animals.
Many more humans have been added, including small puzzles to solve.
UI redesign and improvement.
The overall experience has been reviewed, finishing up the integration of certain mechanics and features.
Many bugs and issues have been fixed. Thank you for all your feedback!
The optimization process has required months of adjustments and modifications to ensure that NAIAD runs as smoothly and comfortably as possible.
Also I've been working hard to bring the game to all platforms.

Right now, I'm preparing to share more updates soon, with details about progress, feature updates, and new content.

As a preview of what's to come...:

In addition to the game, the original soundtrack will be released, with over an hour and a half of music.
NAIAD will be available in 9 languages.
A layer of vibration and haptics has been added to the experience, with special support for DualSense on PC (Windows).
Interesting Steam features have been added, such as achievements and presence.
And many more improvements and surprises...!

A chill and beautiful experience.

+ Solid + simple controls
+ Beautiful visuals
+ Good performance ( highest settings 1080p is much more than 60 fps on the SteamDeck )

° The soundtrack is, for me, a mixed bag. Overall very soothing and chill, but some tracks are too monotone and some have elements that feel sharp and grating. Good variety from area to area. Good vibes overall.

° The "puzzles" caught me off guard.
They fit into the game and the game seems to be designed around being replayed (so you aren't expected to solve everything right away).
But it still. The puzzles sometimes felt like they "jumped" me. (Why tell me I missed some fishes when I wasn't even trying to gather fishes?)
And for some puzzles I was not sure if I was missing the ability to complete them, or the knowledge to solve them.

Naiad captured me with its first trailer years ago and the wait has been fully worth it.
The small edges that I mentioned are not enough to sour the experience and are a wonderful reminder that this is a work of art created by humans.
I can see the love, thought and care in every element of this game and I cherish it dearly.

What a wonderful experience to be had.

First Sun Spot bugged or am I missing something?

I just started the game (loving it!) and stopped at the first sun spot in the game. It tells me twice to press A, but then it slips into a loop and it keeps asking me to press A over and over, I cannot even move anymore and all the other buttons won't work anymore, either. Playing on Steam Deck. I twice excited via the STEAM button and restarted the game, but was caught in the "press A" loop again. So in the end I decided to skip the sun spot and move on. Question- is this bugged or was I missing somethin...
