Best I seem to be able to get is 90% shame resistance. Can anyone help?

I can't figure out how to progress. It's the dungeon you enter from next to the statue out front of the school. I can clear the first level easy, but the only way I can find to progress is a stairway leading down. Once I get down to that second level, I cannot figure out how to progress any further. way over on the left side, there is a door that leads to an endless hallway; you just go an go and go and it never ends. What does agility do? I've seen some say it helps attack first, but i've never seen an enemy attack before Celesphonia, so i'm not sure. Is there a way to raise agility other than jogging on weekdays? What does luck do? How is it raised?
