Game wont open in VR. using valve index. game only opens in theater mode, any help would be great

Anyone having trouble after the latest quick fix? The game was working fine this morning and now the loading screen is pretty much in the floor. From there everything stops working. All my other VR games work just fine.

The option "yes" was funny. The menus seem to work well. Yeaaa... I dunno about the gameplay. First impressions: controls are stiff and heavy, your craft feels like it's stuck to the ground, rather than floating/hovering, the race is confusing, the game does this thing where it gives you turbo strips then puts a sharp turn right after, resulting in you just slamming into the walls unless you play "lame" and break a lot. Other than the menu navigation controls I found 0 onboarding, not even a button disp...

Everything seems fine in the menus and loads the race fine and I can see a cockpit for a split second then everything in the headset fades to grey. The game still seems to be running but the headset is full grey, I can hear audio and it seems to respond perfectly to controller inputs....
