Post Trauma patch 1.05

Hello there!
Thank you everyone for all the amazing support you showed for the game, it has been amazing seeing how people from all over the world played the game.

This is the first update, more things will come. So please continue to share your feedback because it helps me a lot!

If you liked the game and did not leave a review please do it! It helps A LOT to boost the visibility of the game at the Steam store.

The patch will also be rolling out to consoles over the next two days.

Gameplay changes:

Updated Roman's movement so turning feels less sluggish.
Added the option to use Tank Controls. (Any feedback on this is greatly appreciated).
Added a new attack animation for the spear and made the current one a little bit faster.
Added new enemy spawns.
In hard mode now there are more empty tapes to pick up and I improved the visibility of all tapes so they are easier to see.
Reworked how the dynamic loot system works. Ammo now has a higher chance to spawn and it's less likely to find two drawers with the same loot. If you have no med kits at all (chest included), the chance of finding a med kit will be higher.
Allowed people to go back to the second save point in Act IV (the one before the stairs going up).

Bugfixes

Fixed a bug that was causing the player to run even if they were not holding down the run button. (A feature for toggle run instead of hold is planned for the next patch)
Fixed an issue that was forcing players to click "Resume game" at the save game menu instead of allowing them to use the back button shortcut.
Now if you have the Y axis inverted the flashlight will also reflect the change not only the camera.
Fixed an issue that was allowing the UI to show during cutscenes.
Fixed the text at the mix samples machine in the hospital not reflecting introduced items after reloading a save.
Fixed an issue that was causing the equipped weapon icon not being updated for some players.
Fixed gun clipping issues at the prologue cutscene.
Fixed an issue that was affecting Roman's moustache making it look brighter than intended.
Fixed an issue that was causing the clothes of the king to flicker for some players.
Fixed mop bucket physics so the player is unable to climb on top of them.
Fixed "You are here indicator" at one of the school maps.
Fixed an issue that was causing the model of one monster to not disappear after being killed in a cutscene and reloading the game.
Adjusted the interaction trigger for giving the salts to Roman.
Adjusted collisions in some levels.
Minor stability improvements.

I just finished this game...and...oh boy.

I think there is a good game somewhere in the first act. Everything after the first act seems to lose the polish and interesting elements of the narrative. Psychological horror can do a lot of things, but it should always resonate with the theme you are approaching, and to me this just missed the mark by a wide margin.

Was really excited and I would love to see what the developer tries next.

Interesting enough to get to the end. It certainly feels like a psych-horror game of the early 2000s, and the story is just as odd. If you are picky about story-lines, then you might have a problem with this game. The entire game can be described as follows: you are not sure if you're still alive, and you want to leave this scary place.

Minor jump scares, nothing heavy. Fighting is a little annoying because of low character agility (which might be the intent). All battles have the same pattern; no special technique for any enemy fight. You just need to dodge at the right moment (which can be tricky for some) and hit before the enemy regains their composure. Bosses require more hits, but it's basically the same pattern.

Things that I had an issue with:
-The "good" ending was sweet. The other ending was too abstract to know if it was a good or bad finale.
-The Carlos character could use an expanded story-line. I'm not sure why his side of the story is even included in the game. It seems more like it's an entirely different story and has nothing to do with the main narrative.
-The pins and board puzzle was very confusing. Get ready to search for hints online.

Things I really liked:
-The guy jumps funny! XD
-There is another character that eventually joins you. I like games where you're not alone. :)
-The achievements are actually achievable! They were somewhat basic and easy to find, but it feels good to complete them all. :)

Over-all, I enjoyed this game. I saw conceptual examples of it years ago and I am glad I finally got to experience it.

After three years of development, I'm thrilled, excited (and a little bit scared) to announce that Post Trauma is now available on Steam (PC), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. And if you're on Steam, you can also pick up an exclusive Supporter Edition which includes the game's full official soundtrack from Myuu alongside the base game.

On behalf of myself and Red Soul Games, I want to thank you for your passion, your patience and support of Post Trauma. Whether you've been with me since the beginning or you're just joining us here in The Gloom, I'm incredibly grateful and can't wait to hear what you think of the game.

This development journey has been an incredible ride, from the initial demo on Itch.io, to announcing a partnership with Raw Fury and re-announcing the game at The Game Awards, demoing at Gamescom twice and seeing the game be exhibited all around the world, from Tokyo Game Show, to being hosted by PlayStation at BitSummit and taking part in Fantastic Fest in Texas.

Our small team has accomplished so much and despite a few bumps in the road, we're incredibly proud of what we've been able to achieve. We hope you feel the same.

In addition to the standard release, there will also be a Supporter (Deluxe) Edition, which includes the full Official Soundtrack from Nicolas Gasparini (Myuu) alongside the base game.

We're super proud of the amazing work Myuu has put into the OST for Post Trauma, so we want to give you the chance to listen to it yourself whenever you like!

You'll be able to listen to the full OST for free on streaming platforms, but if you'd like to show a bit of extra appreciation to the dev team, you can also buy it on Steam along with the game.

very disappointed

i've waited for this game since demo years ago, bought it as soon as it was released. and i'm disappointed. the facial animations are very bad and more terrifying than all the monsters combined, on top of the game performing very badly on the steam deck. this game has no right looking like this and running like this especially on a 5700x3d and 7700xt. the combat is oddly well done, emulating the classic silent hill walk and shoot style. melee is very limited (no attack combos, very slow, not much stun)...
