But for real, Deflector is a nice rogue like. It's short, it's fun. Different shells actually play differently, bosses are all unique and having the game based around the "deflect" mechanic is a fun twist.

On the other hand it has some issues which drag it down slightly. Due to its rather small size it gets stale rather quickly. After beating the game for the first time you quickly realise that each run you will see the same 7 out of 9 bosses. Another thing is the upgrade system, which is fine by itself, but the attached elemental mechanic makes no sense. It incentives you to build around an element, but the elements are completely random. Additionally, for some ungodly reason the boomerang shell is the default one. It's by far the worst and least fun of the shells. I'm sure many people quit the game shortly after starting, because of how bad that shell plays.
