I'm writing this a few months after completing the game and the experience (and Ik) remains so rent-free in my head that I felt I had to do it justice and drop my first steam review to show support.

Where there's the furniture-throwing mechanic the horror is the emotional equivalent. This game is an incredible blend of slapstick horror - instead of focusing on persistently unsettling the player it's handled instead in allowing the player to settle between misfortunes and throwing the kitchen sink at them unexpectedly, sometimes getting their heart racing by dropping them into life-or-death situations. The horror embodies the 'fight' in the fight-or-flight response and there's plenty of panicked furniture throwing to be had.

The phonecalls from the endearing inn keeper that interject your journey range from comments and advice on situations to questionably timed small talk, and Ik's attempts to establish rapport did a great job of resettling me between surprises, priming me to experience the full effect of the next.

I'm not usually big on puzzles but their straightforward nature of "throw furniture at x and react fast to y" is amusing and accessible, and the time spent completing them too functioned as cooldowns alongside Ik's encouragement.

Gameplay aside the art direction and soundtrack are both pleasing and fitting. The sharp, fast cartoonish animations fit the tone well. It's a horror by technicality, but one that I recall more positively than most as more of an amusing adventure enhanced by its scary (and towards the end sad) moments.

This is such an underrated gem, I genuinely am in disbelief at how little recognition this game gets. It somehow manages to be both hilarious and terrifying all at once, and is one of the few horror games I can stomach to play because it doesn't take itself very seriously most of the time.
It isn't anything special gameplay wise, but it doesn't need to be. Nor does it try to push some "complex", pretentious narrative that has its head up its own ass, like plenty of other games tend to do (especially ones in the horror genre); it's just pure, lighthearted fun with some pretty intense moments mixed in. And for what it lacks in gameplay complexity, it makes up for in its memorability and character.
Probably my favorite indie game of all time, would recommend it to anyone.
