Does anyone know what the purpose of mana is in this game?

Is there any way to soft reset your stats?

Don't know what 90% of the game does because I don't even know the name of items or what they do, or how they interact with my character. Absolutely no tooltips or descriptive text that I can find. Feels like the enemy level is bugged, too. Sometimes when I try to change maps it wont, or it feels like it goes to the wrong one sometime. And then sometimes it will get stuck and then jump randomly back some. also the only way I seemly can make experience or gold is by 1-shotting the first level over and ove...
