The game seems fine more or less but I spent like 3 hours just trying to build and couldn't because the grid doesn't stay or something...yes I am ocd so I was finding the center of the lot to build out from but every time I would rotate the camera everything would get thrown off and nothing was where it should have been in the center of the lot. I couldn't install ceiling lights because it kept saying there wasn't a ceiling even though there was but only if you rotated the camera around, if you rotated the camera the other direction then the ceiling would magically move same with the staircase.

its pretty good i mean wish there was more to do ofc and like colour wheels!!! for furniture& clothes and hair even maybe it would help considering that theres not very many options for clothes and such

Summary: Tiny Life is a life simulation game with as much potential as it already has replayability. I've only had this game for a single day and I have already clocked in six hours. If you love pixelated simulators like I do, or life sims in general, I recommend giving this title a try. It doesn't just have good bones, it already has the entire skeleton and muscle system of an awesome sim game.


Format: I'm going to do this as a pro-con, meaning for every pro, I'll list a con if applicable, and vice versa. Let it be known that all of this is entirely my opinion. I might also talk about some things that could've been glitches, but I mistook for overlooked mistakes or I was mistaken about how a mechanic worked. There might also be spoilers for gameplay mechanics you might want to discover for yourself, so be advised for that too.


Life goal system

Pros: It's a fun system that encourages players to further their Tinies' skills. Completing a life goal gives additional, permanent personality perks which are related to the life goal in question. I also like how you immediately get to choose a new one when you complete a life goal. That's a definite improvement from the Sims 3, where you'd have to get a DLC to merely have a way of changing a completed life goal, but even that still required you to save up points.

Cons: Some take too long and it does not feel rewarding enough. The household life goal (don't remember the exact name, but it's where you get rewarded for learning the repair and cleaning skill) in particular took forever, because there are few natural opportunities for repair things, so the repair skill takes ages to skill up, even with the skill book.

Personal recommendations: If I could expand the reward system, it'd take some inspiration from the Sims 3, but without the points. For every life goal achieved, the player gets the same perks already established, but then they also get to pick another personality trait. This could be where players get misc. things like a fertility boost or faster promotion times, the ability to skip a day at work once a week with no consequences, ect.


Personality system

Pros: Very well-ingrained with the gameplay and fun to play around with. I like seeing how each trait can specialize a Tiny and change the flow.

Cons: I just want more lolol.


Children

Pros: I'll say it right now that I was pleasantly surprised by how much attention children have been given here. They have special life goals that you can only get as a child, which means the personality rewards from completing those life goals are also exclusive to those who give the children attention before the kids age up, and they get to keep those perks.. A really clever way of encouraging players to play as children.

Cons: Children do not have much to do, despite the life goal system for kids. They need more objects they can interact with. I also find it odd that children can acquire the art skill, but cannot interact with the easel. Same thing with the writing skill and how they cannot write on the computer.


Skills

Pros: The dev did a good job on not making skills too overpowered, keeping the gameplay balanced. I also like how the dev is expanding on how to skill up, such as reading skill books.

Cons: Several are either too easy to max or way too hard. I'm looking at you again, repair. I think we also need more exclusive interactions when we skill up, as well as more ways to skill up. Programming and writing are dense with exclusive interactions, but other skills are a bit dull. I think a really good one would be the ability to teach others the skills they've acquired after a certain level. Another good incentive for players to max out skills would be more exclusive items that only that one Tiny can access in the build menu.


Relationships:

Pros: Easy to understand and ties in well with several of the skills.

Cons: Not enough consequences and depth. I tried to see what would happen if I had my character's soulmate cheat on them. They walked in right as he and the mistress were going down and nothin'. That could've been a glitch, though, idk.


Open world

Pros: The open world is so cool. It's clean and easy to navigate, and I like going to one of the public lots and watching all the Tinies go about their day. It's also awesome how Tinies outside of your main map can come visit your town. Makes the world feel alive.

Cons: Need more types of lots in default maps. I had to download a museum from the Steam workshop (btw, the community is AWESOME. The Steam workshop is full of awesome people who've had fun with the game) because I didn't want to build one myself, and I needed to paint in a museum for the art life goal. I could not find one in any of the default maps. Most maps just have a few parks, a bar/cafe, and a bunch of residential lots.



Updates/features that I want


Teenagers: I know the dev is focusing on smaller updates right now, and I highly agree with that. That being said, once the dev focuses on the bigger stuff again, I think a teenager update would be the best logical step (I nominate it be titled "The Angsty Update" hehe).

Some features that might expand on this life stage would be things like allowing teenagers to get up to skill level 5-6, instead of only 3 like children, allow them to interact with currently adult-only items, allow them to romance, and for there to be exclusive life goals (and so, personality perks) for said life stage. I know that's a lot, so I do not expect the dev to cook this up anytime soon.


Weather: I just really like weather in sim games. Again, I know weather can be a surprisingly DENSE feature, so I'm not expecting this anytime soon.


Family trees: I tried my best to not mention the Sims games, since this ISN'T a Sims game, and it's unfair to compare an indie game to an uber-funded game like Sims 3. Despite this, I will say that one of my favorite parts of those games was playing on the same save file for HOURS and HOURS, clicking on the family tree, and then seeing all my generations. I would LOVE for the feature to be here as well.
