Oh my gosh! This game is totally AWESOME!!!!!!

8.5/10!!!!!!

Okay, let me calm down. This game gets a lot right: The art style, the platforming, the action, the upgrades, the soundtrack, the difficulty... All excellent. I really like the fact that this game doesn't overstay it's welcome and within only 3 hrs, I was able to complete it and reach the end credits. While for some, a short run time may be a turn off, I, as someone who plays through multiple games in a single month, found it to be just right.

It's not perfect though, as it only has two issues:
1. I wish we could have gotten backstories for all the characters in the game. While there aren't many characters present, they feel less memorable without backgrounds and motivations and thus, the story suffers a bit here. Still enjoyable though.

2. Minor issue: While you do unlock a generous level selector after you finish the game, I wish some pathways didn't lock you out before exploring them. There's not a whole lot to unlock here, but it was a tad bit frustrating.

Also, I played it after some patches had been implemented and I would say that made the experience much better for me.

But don't let those two issues fool you. This game is awesome and doesn't require me to bash my head against unfair enemies and platforming. The checkpoint system is very forgiving and WoooooooH... WHAT A RIDE! TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!
