Why does it just tell me enemies will play a card and whether it's "attack" or "defense"? A proper intent system would feel much better and be more accurate. As currently a "defense" card can be buffing an ally. And a proper intent system would also tell you how far a unit could move each turn, as movement is presented to the player as a card, making it really odd that the enemy gets X cards.. plus a movement card just cause.
