The moment I reached the ending, I felt as if I had been released from prison. What a relieve.

I truly can't understand the bad reviews for this game.
OK, maybe the game the game had performance issues, but they are gone.
The only two issues I can see with this game are

1. HP is feeling useless, I get one hit in my face and I need to heal already
and
2. All you see in PvP are people casting long range spells, using long range weapon abilities and hitting them with a heavy weapon is practically useless, because you can be staggered with a weapon twice as as fast yours despite heavy armor

But otherwise this game deserves better. If Dark Souls 1 abysmal performance (that never got fixed until the heavily overpriced remaster), clunky controls, bad boss design (except for a few exceptions) still allow it to be called "the best souls game", this game at least deserves something better than mixed reviews.

Many of the negative reviews for this are subjective whining or comparing it to From games. It's pretty clear half these people didn't even give it a chance. It isn't souls and it doesn't need to be. Zero performance issues or crashes on a 4070 max settings.

Combat can be a little awkward and unpolished but the environments/aesthetic/atmosphere/graphics/originality by far make up for it. Enemy snipers and ambushes are not excessive, you just can't blindly sprint into every new area. The game is gorgeous so you should be taking your time looking around anyway. Umbral mobs have been dealt with in the update if you don't like them. I've played all from games and there are some areas here with great vertical/interconnected design and enemy placement that made me nostalgic for DS1. Honestly there's so much great content in this game it's very unfair to not recommend it for the multitude of ridiculous reasons I've seen given. Great game overall.

Get it 50% off. Worth it, ignore opinionated reviews: cutscene this, dark mode enemies that, indie feel ect not dark souls. you will defo enjoy it, no crashes: high settings on steamdeck 30fps is good, nothing annoying + plus you'll be playing this anywhere. It's got it's own fighting pace, slower and methodical. IMO the spectral mode is great, adds so much depth ,puzzles, side quests. online is OP, best online experience if you have a buddy. The level design and characters immerse. Give it a proper go, first real boss is an ass to beat. Gets better from there

Pretty fun souls like, the umbral mecanic took some time to get used to but overall its a very cool and unique game feature.

The game had lots of issues on release, but since ver. 1.5 it runs and plays smoothy. Very good souls-like, I like it more than Elden Ring.

I've been following this game since launch and finally decided to buy it. I gotta say I love the concept, the design it's beautiful, the parry mechanic is fun to master, the premise is quite simple but learning more about the umbral realm is thrilling. I've been having a blast going through my first playthrough.

I've experience poor connection going to the PVP, but it actually depends on the time of day I play, I found out that if I play at sleeping hours I will certainly get bad connection because it pairs me with people too far away from my location.

I know the devs have been constantly delivering several updates fixing things and adding a lot of content, which I appreciate a lot. I totally recommend this game if you like this genre as it stays true to the formula while adding new mechanics, fun combat, gorgeous visuals and a world worth exploring and unveiling it secrets.

Just want to say, game was fun and had great mechanics and was unique. Had ton of fun playing it and totally loved playing it with friends with no BS. Funny to see the people leaving bad reviews with 50 to 100 hours plus, ironic. Good game nonetheless.

I actually really enjoyed the original game and was looking forward to this one as well, but after seeing the initial reviews I hesitated on buying and waited a bit. I do regret not picking this one up earlier as I think the game did not receive the reviews it deserved. I've had over 100+ hours, just finished the first play through and I would def recommend picking this one up.
