When you die and choose revive option for coins you become invulnerable for short time, but if you reset level or exit to main menu during that effect it stays on until you exit the game and restart it. Edit: Also seems to happen if you revive just before the end of level and end the level while immortality is on. You can play rest of the game with god mode on....
