• Fixed a rare occurrence where a save file could no longer be loaded due to some specific map corruption.
  
• Fixed Performer Schools (Juggler School, Conservatory, Dance School) no longer sending performers to venues if the one they previously sent failed to reach its destination for any reason.
  
• Fixed monument workers sometimes disappear alongside some of the goods needed for construction at a Storage Yard, when building some monuments.
  
• Fixed an issue where custom maps would fail to load in various cases.
  
• Reverted changes to camera edge-panning with the cursor, while it is over UI.

Today, we’re glad to announce that the Mission Editor mode is now available with the latest update for Pharaoh: A New Era. Starting today, you can play the Mission Editor mode and start your kingdom from scratch to rule it in your own way.

Disclaimer regarding map names when playing in Mission Editor mode:

A note on map names in the new Mission Editor Mode - all of your custom maps will be shown under the "My Maps" tab in-game.

You may create additional tabs to organize your custom maps in-game by creating folders via Windows File Explorer (C:>Users>[My Windows User Name]>AppData>LocalLow>Triskell Interactive>Pharaoh>[Steam ID number]>My Maps).

However, please note that if you create two folders A and B, but each of them contains a map called "MyMap1" then you will have two maps with the same name "MyMap1" under the "My Maps" tab in-game, which may lead to confusion.

We strongly encourage you to assign unique names to your custom maps to avoid confusion in the "My Maps" tab.

Today, we are ready to deploy a new update to Pharaoh: A New Era that addresses bug fixes and issues in the military system.

Thanks to the community feedback received since the game launched, the development team worked to address issues related to the military system alongside a new Defense System that brings new purpose to fortifications.

• Defensive structures now trigger a defensive zone around them
  
• Surrounding a zone with defensive structures protects it entirely
  
• Civil buildings located in a defensive zone cannot be destroyed in the aftermath of a battle
  
• All invasions now trigger a round of destruction of civil buildings (can only be countered if your army is stronger than the invader’s)
  
• Your city is now more vulnerable to destruction if you lose or narrowly win a battle
  
• Added Defense Overlay to display the current defensive zones
  
• Predators inside a defensive zone can no longer attack walkers

• Fixed Overseer of the Military displaying bow icon for upgraded infantry

We’re deploying a quick hotfix for Tuesday's patch:

• Fixed the following issue: In the missions Menat Khufu (Middle Kingdom) and Khnum (New Kingdom), the pre-built pyramids were no longer accounted for in the initial calculation of the Monument Rating score, requiring the player to destroy them and build them again to be able to complete the mission.

NEW - Three more overlays added

• Bazar overlay - displays food access to houses
  
• Magistrate overlay - displays courthouses access to houses
  
• Problems - displays various problems in your city :
  
• Risk of life, collapse, crime, disease, and malaria
  
• No road access
  
• Buildings’ entry & exits that are not connected
  
• No access to the workforce
  
• No raw material available for manufactured goods production buildings
  
• No resources available for services buildings (i.e. mortuaries, scribal schools, libraries, senet houses, and zoos)
  
• Entertainers missing on performance venues

Most overlays now display information when you hover on the buildings. Furthermore, we added an option to display columns on overlays just like in the original game


With this new update, you can now manage which events must be displayed as a notification or should be hidden. This setting can be used in a new tab in the ‘option’ menu.
Please note that requests, gifts, or invasions cannot be hidden nor displayed as notifications.

We also added a few new events :

• Population milestone
  
• Warning for the lack of a working dock when a water trade route is open

Flat mode just got better with this new QoL update. Starting today, you can flatten any building with a right-click. If you right-click again the building comes up. To return to a normal view, you just have to click on the button next to the minimap or press ‘F’ (hotkey set by default).

The flat mode can now cover a good part of the needs related to map rotation. With this new addition, we believe that the mode will be more practical to use.


The burial goods needed are now displayed :

• In missions’ objectives
  
• In rating overseer
  
• In the information panel of monuments that requires them

While fixing bugs that affected ferries, something interesting occurred and we decided to keep in-game. Before, if the path of different pairs of ferries crossed, they’d stop working. After fixing this, we figured out that walkers are now able to shortcut their way to go straight to a ferry landing even if it’s not the one connected to their departure.

We think that it's a neat addition, especially for bigger cities where distance can be a problem. Anything that allows path optimization is more than welcome.


You can now put to sleep mode all interactive buildings. Sleep mode is enabled by clicking on the Zzz button displayed in the building user interface. If you don’t want to shut down the entire industry but put to sleep mode a few buildings when lacking workers or temporarily over/underproducing certain resources, you have now a great tool to do it.

• In Pyramid Scheme, the first request for Granite now triggers properly
  
• In Pyramid Scheme, the trade route to Dunqul Oasis now sells and buys the proper resources
  
• Fixed soft lock occurring in Timna (Campaign sandbox) when responding in time to the recurring Men-Nefer request
  
• In Henen-nesw - Sauty trade route can now reopen
  
• In Henen-nesw - prevents a double event after receiving a gift
  
• In Meidum - trade with Abu is now possible
  
• In On -Saqqara trade route can now reopen

Today we finally add the long awaited ultra-wide support to the game. We also wanted to improve player experience by increasing coverage of buildings, making UI improvements and more bug fixes, most notably by fixing more save corruption issues and monuments getting stuck.



We could not test every variation out there, so if you encounter any problems, please provide your feedback in the Technical Support forum so we can help you.



As the way to play the game has changed a lot in almost 24 years, neighborhoods tend to be generally more optimized than what the original team intended, generating spam of specific buildings to attain desired coverage. Coverage for buildings has been increased to reduce this:

• Shrine: from 300 to 400 people
  
• Temple: from 700 to 900
  
• Shrine for Patron God: from 150 to 200
  
• Temple for Patron God: From 375 to 450
  
• Temple Complex: from 8000 to 10000
  
• Juggler stage: from 400 to 600
  
• Musician stage: from 700 to 1000
  
• Dancer stage: from 1200 to 1800
  
• Senet House: from 5000 to 7500
  
• Zoo: from 7500 to 10000
  
• Library: from 800 to 1200
  
• Scribal School: from 300 to 500 children

• Esc. now has the same effect as a right click.
  
• Every tooltip now gives information on what key bind is associated with its button.
  
• Added an icon on a building not having access to a road instead of a notification.
  
• Added an icon on a building whose entry and exit point are not connected.
  
• Mission briefing properly displays objectives in the first 4 missions.
  
• Objectives now display house full name instead of house level.

• Trade Boats don’t get stuck when something happens to their destination dock anymore.
  
• Fixed Trade Boats not splitting when multiple docks are available.
  
• Fixed display for unit-based resources in trade boats interface.
  
• Walkers in destination mode no longer try to go through underwater floodplains (and drown on the way).
  
• Fixed some animations on buildings.
  
• Buildings destroyed by gods now have a lightning strike effect if you happen to be looking at the right time in the right place.

• Fixed mini map not updating on certain cases.
  
• Fixed Academy blocking recruiters if not accessible by road when built the first time.
  
• Fixed tax input field not clamping the value correctly.
  
• Fixed trade routes opening and festival launching still sometimes not being able to be used while in debt.
  
• Fixed hunting lodge icon on worker overseer.
  
• Fixed workforce calculation for the overseer of workers.
  
• Disabling industries now send the workers back to being unemployed.
  
• Inhabitants in manors are now properly removed from the workforce.
  
• Fixed events on Itjtawy so new trade routes can open.
  
• Fixed "Organized Mess" achievement not being triggered.
  
• Fixed trade "Sells" column missing its border.
  
• Fixed city name not being updated when changing language in the settings.

Please note that in order to fix as many save corruption issues as fast as possible, we were forced to reintroduce the following bugs :

• When loading the campaign map, improper cities are initially being shown
  
• Work Camps will sometimes decide to stop sending out workers | WORKAROUND : This issue occurs after around 1 hour of gameplay. Reloading the save fixes the issue.

We apologize for this inconvience, we are working to fix these bugs as fast as possible.
