It's nice to have on, but it takes way too long before the messages disappear. The game would benefit from a skip button after you've read the message. Barely any1 reads that slow ;)

im at the start of the game .. i found the chain ..but i cant find the socket for the chain

not sure what happened. I completed the 3 alters and it said to use the rotating room then use tunnels. However i never moved the rock slab thats a shortcut to that 3rd alter. the room that rotates there wasn't a door it was a brick wall. I tried rotating using the lever but it was always a brick wall. had to restart chapter then found out I should have moved the slab of rock. was able to continue obviously...
