I absolutely adore this game, one of the greatest rogue likes I've ever played and I do HEAVILY recommend it, but I will use this review to complain about minor ♥♥♥♥ that no one cares about but me probably, so here goes. (and then goodies at the bottom)

Big Bads:
- Enemies can be inconsistent on how they see you, sometimes the most minute gap will be enough and that'll throw off your dodge timing, if you're playing on higher difficulties that can end your run real quick, this isn't something that happens too often thankfully but when it does it feels impossible to see it coming or react to.
- Some weapon unlocks for all characters feel like a straight downgrade to the default weapon, especially the Cool Clam for Doctor Fusion, probably the weakest melee weapon in the entire game it hits like a dried pool noodle you'll end up getting hit way before you kill a single enemy from the first stage.

Medium Malcontent:
- Different characters all play the same, the only change you get is your starting gear which by the way powerups can be straight up not taken making the character even more bland, I'm sure there could have been ways to change how a character approaches a run with a different move-set or interaction with the environment, thankfully in some cases the powerups you are given can drastically affect how you play, in mind would be Jimbot and Clozo's arm, but mostly way too similar to each other, thankfully the game's item variety covers for that pretty almost entirely, perhaps if characters had more than 1 powerup unlock they would feel a little more unique, I think Doctor Fusion again suffers the most from this "Astral Body" is quite terrible and puts you in very annoying situations as enemies become harder to predict as they gravitate towards you, even in a melee build this is not worth it you'll just garner a ball of death onto yourself.

Small Sins:
- The Puppeteer is a little uninspired, BUT there is a BUT I do love that instead of just throwing all the bosses you just fought he uses their attacks to create new patterns from the ones you already know, it is pretty cool and interesting, but I personally grow tired of last bosses being "all the bosses you fought previously" but remixed, though I do think Puppeteer is one of the best ones in this genre of bosses.
- Melee Weapons feel real damn weird at first, the way they affect your movement can throw you off and make you go where you didn't intend, they can be extremely powerful but are some of the strangest melee weapons I've ever used in a game, I wish some of them would have a little more impact especially some of the heavier weapons having the same impact as light fast weapons, which is disappointing to me as a big fan of heavy hard hitting melee weapons.
- Creating a pet at the cost of your consumable anti void currency you get by defeating bosses is the last thing you can do with that currency after unlocking everything, now I love having something to do with said currency after you've completed everything, but these pets are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ plague on your run after creating them, they'll sometimes replace one of the 3 trades you get after completing a stage and they are absolutely not worth replacing any of them, if they were an addition on top they would be completely fine, but they're not powerful enough to have them around, I was forced to banish my favorite creation because it was ruining my runs, rest in peace "Gugagu" best shrimp ever.
- Very minor thing to add here, if you're at the last stage you can still get a ghost fetch quest and enter the Puppeteer boss fight, you will be stuck with said quest until you find another Ghost lady, Ghosts are your healing item, you cannot heal while doing this quest, You cannot get rid of this quest while you're doing the literal final boss of the game, you may understand the problem, of course it is your fault as a player to have forgotten at what stage of the game you were in, but I think for the final boss at least you should be able to get rid of the quest, perhaps while in the antivoid transition.

With all that said this game is still amazing these are all very minor complaints looking at how incredible this game is overall, go play it it's really really fun, I'm almost 40 hours in and I still have stuff to discover, now I will gush about positives bellow:

POSITIVES
-Visually, I mean look at it, this ♥♥♥♥ kicks unique levels of ass, animated with vector art and pixelized it fits very well all together. One minor problem though sometimes the pixel grid can have some squeezed pixels, it looks like 'mixels' and it does take away from the look a little sometimes, BUT every little entity in this game is animated in an interesting way, everything feels alive and works together I love it, the background is expertly with made low contrast to not take your attention away from the entities and is also very very good looking the whole ambience is tops, not doing anything and looking at things unfold is cool because there's also a weather system that affects gameplay by the way like what the ♥♥♥♥ if you wet an enemy and it's cold they'll freeze like I'm not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidding this game has so much I love it.

-Difficulty, You choose the level of punishment, and it gives you more reward in turn, the way the game controls allows for damage to nuke your health and feel fair (USUALLY) since you can dodge so often and stomp combo enemies you shouldn't be getting hit by attacks, but if you ♥♥♥♥ up and touch the ground while there's something going on, well that's on you buddy you goofed up, the dodge mechanic doesn't shy away from being spammable at all and in turn enemies also don't shy away from going as hard as they can, WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY OTHER POINT.

-Bosses and enemies, The variety is through the roof, not only is there unique enemies to each stage of the game, you can also unlock variants of stages by finding tokens in a run, which in turns adds new enemies and bosses in those variants, there's 12 bosses in the game right now and they're all very unique from each other except for Skogr because ♥♥♥♥ Skogr bane of my existence.

-Items will have an interaction, they just will, the bullet system is amazing literally anything will become something different thanks to powerups, familiars will shoot stuff and that counts as bullets which means your powerup that changes your bullets will also affect that familiar's bullets and so on with literally everything you can think of, this is by far my favorite part of this game, and this is only a very small example, there's elemental combos, literally animals like rats and snakes and ♥♥♥♥ are in rotation to help you, Melee is the same with different interactions there's a lot to unpack with every single thing in this game and it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome, if you can think of a build it'll probably work and that's the most fun ♥♥♥♥ about roguelikes and this game nails it, I could go on and on about everything you can do but it would take way too long, now go play the game.

Hidden gem if ever I've seen one

Really fun dungeon crawler with amazing bosses. Good playtime for its value. Enjoyability 10/10
