Hello, is this Couch-coop only?

When trying to run the demo on Debian Linux it crashes immediately. I interesting on this game. But before buy it, I want to play the demo first to make sure this game fit for me or not. But I unable to download demo. Whenever I push download it doesn't show anything. Can anyone help?

I've seen some mention of solo play here in the forums, but i just wanted to confirm it's possible to play solo? The store page shows the game officially only supports local co-op.. 🤔

I keep getting my butt handed to me on the acid-river level of the demo (third level?). I'm playing on my own but I still think I'm missing something!
