I think I've already finished Detroit: Become Human about 8–9 times to get all the achievements, which makes a “normal” review quite difficult.

The game is like an interactive film that lasts 14–18 hours and has very different outcomes depending on the decisions you make. It's a spiritual successor to “Heavy Rain”, which to be honest I liked a bit more because it moved me more. Nevertheless, the story of Detroit: Become Human leaves you anything but cold, especially at the end. I mean, I may have shed a tear or two after my first playthrough.

In my opinion, the soundtrack is very suitable, and the game features some remarkably attractive and detailed backdrops, contributing to a very immersive experience.
The atmosphere draws you in, so that you often feel like a part of this futuristic, dystopian city of Detroit.
Another thing that I really liked were the many thought experiments and moral/ethical questions that the game throws at you, and the ever-present critical display of destructive human behavior patterns.

However, there are a few aspects that bother me about this game. To name a few: The replayability of this game is high, but unfortunately it is usually tedious and time-consuming to play other 'routes' of a level.
Why are there so few re-entry options in the middle of a level? Why is there no option to skip cutscenes?
I mean, these are good design decisions for the first playthrough, but they make subsequent playthroughs unnecessarily exhausting.
Another thing I have to mention are the face animations that frequently look a bit stiff and “inhuman”.
I also don't understand why there is only an easy and medium difficulty level; sometimes I would have liked the game to be a bit harder.

All in all, I would give Detroit: Become Human a 7.5/10, and I can't think of any good reason why you shouldn't at least give this game a try.
