Make the water recolorable just like the walls are

And ditto for poison. Why? It would bring more variety without extra tiles. For example, murky water wouldn't be needed anymore, as it would be just brown water. Same with poison. Recolor it green, you got yourself an acid, recolor it red, it's lava now! Alternatively, you could make it have variants like certain decoration objects (carpets in particular) do....

Dev Stream! 9-14-25 "Quickstart" feature and Designer Challenge

We have a new "Quickstart" feature to showcase, it lets you test your dungeon without needing to move your starting location and equipment around! We'll play any new dungeons that have popped up and if we have time we'll start working on a dungeon for the recently announced September Designer Challenge.

Wall-mounted buttons/levers

Would allow making more compact rooms without wasting an entire tile for button/lever.

Early Access Review

Having played the competitors, being Super Dungeon Maker and Quest Master, I don't think the question we should be asking is 'is this better or worse?' It should be 'what does this bring to the table?'

Super Dungeon Designer has many of the same elements as SDM and QM, but with some huge advantages.
For one, you can mix and match themes, instead of settling for one theme per dungeon (SDM) or one per floor (QM).
Another advantage is the ability to link doors to whichever room you want. If you want to build a brain blasting dungeon where east goes west and south goes north, you can.

Right now, there's only one floor to work with, but you can place stairs transitions, which let you give your dungeon the illusion of depth. If you're clever, you can make it look pretty dang convincing. (One room is a forest, the other is a dark dungeon. Place stairs to make it look like you're going down into the darkness)

Unlike Maker and Master, Designer is still in development, and it's making some fine progress. I can't wait to see where it goes from here!
