Isaac Greymoor is ready to bring the heat in the fight against the Banished Court! This hot-headed mercenary is the prodigal son of the past leader of the Lamplighters League. Isaac and Locke are the only survivors from the glory days — and it is time for Isaac to rejoin the cause.

Isaac’s weapon is his Light Machine Gun. It excels at dealing a lot of hits and stacking up a lot of damage. His gun does not use Ammo and does not need to be reloaded — instead, Isaac must manage the weapon’s Heat, visualized by a meter in the lower left corner of the screen.

Isaac’s kit revolves around firing his LMG to build Heat. The more Heat Isaac has, the stronger all of his LMG attacks become. But it comes with a tradeoff—for every stack of Heat, he loses some of his Speed.

Each of Isaac’s abilities has a special interaction with Heat and there is a big damage benefit the more Heat he has- but be careful! Every LMG ability taken while Isaac is at Max Heat has a chance to make Isaac Overheated.

When Isaac is Overheated he can continue shooting his LMG, but every LMG Ability he uses will also inflict Damage on himself (a percentage of his current Health).

With Isaac, it's all about dealing damage and pushing the limits.



Isaac’s basic shoot attack is a multi-hit attack, similar to Judith or Ana Sofia’s SMGs. However, every stack of Heat increases the amount of times Isaac will fire his gun. Isaac’s per-bullet damage is lower than the other Agents, but his power comes from having a high volume of them.

No Heat: 3 shots
1 Heat: 4 shots
2 Heat: 5 shots
3 Heat (Max): 7 shots

Additionally, each bullet that hits will shred a small amount of Armor.
Isaac also has an Overwatch ability that behaves the same way.


A ranged ability that deals damage shreds Armor, and Displaces targets. This is a first for the game- an Agent ranged Displacement ability! This can be used to move and try to knock down enemies from a distance.

The amount of damage dealt and Armor shred will scale depending on how much Heat Isaac has. Later upgrades will increase how far targets are displaced!


A ranged AoE ability. Isaac will unload bullets in a selected area. Enemies hit will take damage and be Flushed Out from cover! This is a very effective way to set up easier hits on targets. (Isaac has a lot of hits to try to land!)

Damage increases depending on how much Heat Isaac has. Also, a later upgrade of Cannonade will apply a burning hazard area while Isaac is at Max Heat.


Isaac unleashes a hailstorm of bullets in a cone AoE that deals damage and shreds Armor. This is a big move that can deal A LOT of damage if it's used on a group of enemies.

Higher Heat means more bullets fired per target.

No Heat: 3 shots per target
1 Heat: 4 shots per target
2 Heat: 5 shots per target
3 Heat (Max): 7 shots per target

An upgraded version of this Signature includes even more shots per target.


A free-to-use ability that removes all of Isaac’s Heat and removes Overheated. If Isaac is Overheated when he uses this move, then venting will also create a smoke area around him.

This is a key part of Isaac’s loop. The more Heat he has, the stronger he is—but make sure that decreased mobility and the self-inflicted Overheated damage are a price he can afford to pay.



Isaac is an Agent with high damage output. At higher levels of Heat he can really pack a punch, but you will also need to be careful. He is all about winding up in power by building up Heat, and then Venting when things get a little too hot.

Isaac plays similarly to Purnima — you’ll want to find a good position for him to deal tons of damage. Protecting him with other Agents can be advantageous — especially if you continue to trade health for shots while Overheated.


Because Isaac has so many bullets that can hit, anything that helps increase his Hit Chance to is something you should consider! Try using his Cannonade to move enemies out of cover before following up with other attacks.


Water can help Isaac keep his cool. Whenever Isaac is wet, he will not build up Heat while he attacks. Water will also stop him from being Overheated. Every turn Isaac is wet he will lose a stack of Heat. Keep an eye out for water on the field — it can be used to manage Isaac’s Heat in a more incremental way than simply Venting.

Isaac’s gameplay was inspired by a love of over-the-top Hollywood gun action scenes and the catharsis of seeing tons of bullets firing. We’re so excited for the community to meet Isaac and see how he synergizes and interacts with the other Agents.

Well hey there, all you scoundrels, rogues, and misfits. We've got a lot of ground to cover today: a new Agent, a new event system, plus a whole stack of fixes.

The Isaac DLC accompanied by the Twist of Fate Update will be Free to Download for all of our players - Thank you for joining the Lamplighters League!


Meet Isaac Greymoor, a hot-headed, lead-slinging mercenary who wields a deadly light machine gun to devastating effect. And watch out, folks: on a team of shady characters he just might be the worst of the bunch.

Isaac Greymoor's LMG spits a hail of bullets and generates Heat as it fires—the more Heat, the more Damage. But too much Heat, and Isaac could become Overheated—causing him to suffer Damage even as he dishes it out. To learn more about his gameplay, look out for the Dev Diary we’ll post tomorrow, it goes into all the details!

Does the name Greymoor sound familiar? Don't tell Isaac; it'll go to his head. But you may have heard Locke mention one Lord Greymoor, former leader of the Lamplighters League. Well, Isaac is his son, but the apple fell very far from the tree.

Once you've grabbed the DLC from your store of choice, he will be the next Agent Recruitment mission you find. Or, start a new custom game and skip the intro to select him as one of your starting 4 Agents.

One more thing. The Isaac DLC is FREE. That's right, folks, this criminal is a steal. This is our little way of thanking you all for playing, engaging in the community, reporting bugs, and voicing your feedback.


Events are a brand new way to campaign against the Banished Court, available to all. Everyone will begin to see these after applying the 1.3 update! Most weeks, after reviewing the Activity on the World Map after a mission, you will be presented with a Fate Event. Check out this example:

Fate Events offer the story of an adventure in the world outside of Del Vasto’s Landing and what else the League gets up to when not on a Mission or an Expedition. Fate Events usually end in rewards for the League, providing materials for the campaign by resolving each mini story with a choice. Available options can depend on which agents you have recruited, and each option leads to a different conclusion. It’s up to you how the League handles each opportunity!

House Events, on the other hand, occur rarely. These Events usually cost something to complete, but you may then sway the balance of power between the three houses. For these, the available options vary and sometimes can be completed by specific agents—but you can always choose to “Do Nothing” and allow the House to gain a little more ground instead. Choose wisely!

We think Events add a real je ne sais quoi to the game. We get to share more about the world the Lamplighters operate in, and you get the opportunity to choose different outcomes and learn more about this cast of scoundrels…and there’s more control over the strategic layer of the campaign from the added resources and new ways to interact with Doomsday Clocks and Threat. If you are in the middle of a carefully orchestrated campaign and don’t want this to affect your playthrough, the feature can be disabled under Settings. However, we hope everyone enjoys these Events as much as we enjoyed creating them.

• Fate Events give you a glimpse into the larger world of the Lamplighters League, and lets you choose how to handle each event. Each option will offer the player different rewards.
  
• House Events tell the story of the world during the rise of the Houses of the Banished court, and offer the player unique ways to interact with them

Added the “Wet” Status Effect

Localization fixes

• A specific city level should no longer cause infinite loading issues.
  
• A specific jungle level that sometimes had graphical issues on low graphics settings should no longer have black triangles in some places.
  
• Turned down the default frequency of Action Cam
  
• Fixed a few floating or clipping lore objects
  
• Made sure that one bookshelf in the middle of a fancy room had appropriate collision
  
• Lamplighter’s Tonic should no longer vanish from the Ability Bar during real time
  
• Damage Talisman should now apply the correct amount of added damage output.
  
• Fixed an issue where Threshold would not deal damage to all targets as described. Be careful with that magical ordinance, now!

In addition to the above fixes and new features, we made good progress on our campaign to stabilize some technical challenges. On the whole, the game saves and loads faster, and the game uses less memory overall. This is good news for our players on restricted memory systems!

• Very rarely, the Isaac Recruit mission won’t spawn on Week 5 the first time you recruit him. It should appear the following week.
  
• Passive effects that Isaac inflicts on his enemies will sometimes also be inflicted on him.

We’re already working on a short-term hotfix to address the Known Issues above. But, that’s everything for today! If you notice new issues, please bring them to us on Discord or the Forums. We can’t wait to see how Isaac shakes up your Agent loadout.

The folks here on the HBS team have been hard at work fixing bugs and investigating issues the community has reported! Our top priority is making the experience more stable for players currently experiencing crashes and lost saves. Today’s update includes our progress on that, plus a neat feature, and as many other fixes as we could wrangle. Read more about this after the patch notes!

• Added the Archives: a place to peruse collected Lore, review Tutorials, and strategize using the complete list of Status Effects and Hazards.
  
  • Visit the World Map to open the Archives!
    
  • As you discover lore, it will be added to the Lore section.
    
  • Found How-Tos and Instructional Text will also be added to the Field Guide.
    
  • Status Effects, Phenomena, and Hazards can also be reviewed in detail.
    
    • You can continue to use Recon mode to investigate agents or enemies to see what their current status effects are and do.
• Updated Marteau and Nicastro Heists to improve performance
  
  • Players may see some fuzzy textures during hero cam moments, a necessary trade right now.
    
  • We will continue to tinker with levels with poor performance reports while we set up performance gains for everyone.
• Updated “Trap” behaviors
  
  • Fire and Shock traps in the Strum and Marteau Heists will now only be active in the area around your Agents.
• Made some under-the-hood updates to the Marteau Heist
  
  • The mission should still play the same, but this change will BREAK MID-MISSION SAVES in the Marteau Heist - a warning regarding this was sent out on our socials before this update.
    
  • Players must resume from the autosave right before the mission.
    
  • This was a necessary cost to address performance concerns during this level. We apologize for the inconvenience.
  Quality of Life Updates
• Clarified Célestine's ability description:
  
  • Mesmerize is recharged whenever Célestine performs a stress finisher
    
  • “Coup de Grace” was a special name for her stress finisher, this is just a clarification.
• Made some improvements to AI behaviors:
  
  • Scourges should be more straightforwardly aggressive.
    
  • Enemies moving in from a long way away should choose a better destination when they get close to the Agents.
    
  • Grenadiers should skip their turn less often.
• Improved the description of the Deep Stalker’s Devouring Maw ability.
  
• Players should no longer be able to save while Agents are climbing, which is intended
  
• This prevents players from getting stuck on a ladder when they load saves
  
• The “Edge Panning” setting for mouse inputs should now work as expected.
  
• Addressed some reported typos and localization errors.
  
• Updated Credits.
  
  
  Bug Fixes
• Running Shot should no longer cause a brief stutter when used.
  
• If a target with a stack of Evade is displaced, the game should no longer pause for a long second.
  
• Fixed an issue where the game could occasionally get stuck on enemy turn during combat.
  
• Deep Stalkers created after picking up the Musk objective in the Nicastro Heist should no longer cause players to be stuck in turn-based mode.
  
• Loading a save made mid-mission should now grant an appropriate amount of Supplies when Supplies are picked up.
  
• Fixed an issue that caused the Hideout to sometimes not have UI.
  
• Players should no longer get stuck after trying to create a Paradox Account through the in-game menu.
  
• Removed an inaccessible Clamber Vine from a level.
  
• The Whispers card's Ability should now upgrade correctly, increasing the size of the Void Hazard deployed with each level. Additionally, the card's description has been updated to match the design intent.
  
• Removed a Lore pickup that would float out of reach on some levels.
  
• Ability Description Panels should no longer remain on screen after leaving turn-based combat mode.
  
• Enemies should no longer be able to walk into the large Generator prop in The Crossroads Archive
  
• Scarabs should now appear correctly even if the Summoner is standing in fire.
  
• Fixed a floating floor decoration in some interior maps.
  
• Jianyi should no longer be able to get stuck in small generator objects when using Lightning Shift.
  
• The Alexandrite’s Phantasmagoria passive should now heal their phantasms correctly.
  
• Eddie’s Dual Shoot should have a Skip button during target selection.
  
• Removed some objects that could sometimes load in overlapping a reinforcement tower in the Nicastro Heist.
  
• Fixed an issue where Missions would list Seric Steel as a reward incorrectly.
  
• Judith’s Shield Bash ability should no longer cause enemies to slowly float backward.
  
• The Tower should no longer sometimes start in turn-based combat mode when Marteau is the first Scion on the field.
  
  • This fix will only apply when the player loads in the first time, and will not fix an existing Tower instance that loads from save.
    
  • If you are stuck in combat at the very beginning of the Tower, we recommend restarting from the autosave before entering the Tower!
  
  
  Narrative Follow-up
  
  Now, the Archives!
  
  There’s a ton of information in this game, from beautifully written missives the Agents can intercept to a variety of powerful buffs and challenging status effects…and it sure would be nice if there was a place to read all of this information outside the tension of combat. Watching amazing gameplay videos in our downtime, we especially felt the need for a glossary of tactical modifiers. So, we needed to build an Archive.
  
  Access the Archives from the World Map menu – check the information menu in the top right of the screen for the new option at the bottom of the list. The default key is C.
  
  When opened, the Archives hold a few different kinds of information in different sections: Lore, Field Guide, Status Effects, Hazards, and Phenomena.
  
  The Lore section fills out with Lore as it is discovered; newly found Lore will be marked with a ! for easy identification, and the ! will be cleared when read. The Field Guide section does the same with any tutorials or instructional texts.
  
  The other three sections are our Glossary of useful terms. Status Effects lists all of the available buffs and debuffs, and what they do. Hazards lists all of the various dangerous obstacles Agents can encounter like Void, Shock, and more. Phenomena is a list of the possible mission modifiers throughout the campaign. These pieces of information do not need to be discovered and are available for reference right from Week 5.
  
  We’re so excited that we could include this new feature in this update, alongside all of the bug fixing. We have a few more goodies in store, but our first priority is improving stability for our most negatively affected players - we will continue to combine the two whenever we can do so safely. We hope you all enjoy reading up on the world the Tower is at the end of and strategizing more effectively with more information!

Hello Lamplighters,

Our next update is arriving soon with lots of fixes for bugs and crashes alike, as well as some new goodies to look forward to. However, we also have an important message for you:

The Marteau Heist is one many players have struggled with or are currently struggling with. We’ve had a lot of focus on fixing this issue. As a result, saves made mid-mission during the Marteau Heist will break when the fixes release.

If you end up with a broken save as a result, make sure to resume your autosave from right before the mission starts. We’re terribly sorry about this inconvenience.

On another note, it has been 1 month since the release of Lamplighters League!

It goes without saying, maybe, but this is a special day for us, and we are so excited to be sharing this game with you. Games like this take a long time to bring to life from the first pitches to the final product you can finally play today. At each stage there are unique challenges—especially when bringing to life a brand new game world and working out new twists for an established and complex genre like turn-based tactics. It can be grueling, especially when the build isn’t feeling fun, or a production deadline is looming. Or, worse, when those two things are happening at once.

It can also be incredibly rewarding. There was a moment during development where we were, in fact, facing down the fact that infiltration just wasn’t fun and there was a big deadline coming up fast. We needed to rethink things, and we needed to do it quickly. Under that pressure the team prototyped and implemented the real time takedowns in just a few weeks. I jumped up in the air the first time I saw the shock from a mine travel through the water on the ground to take out an unaware enemy. It was a big victory right when we needed it as a team.

The thing is through all of that, the ups and the downs, we were thinking of you. Well, not you, of course, in all likelihood we’ve never met, but you, the player. Would this ability work? Is this still approachable? Are we rewarding high-skill play? Is Marteau smarmy enough? Would you think this moment was funny or that that one was touching?

This is the longest we’ve gone at HBS without getting to meet our audience, our community. Thanks to Kickstarter, we were often developing with you, working on beloved franchises like Shadowrun and BATTLETECH. We had trusted community members that could offer feedback and share their enthusiasm as we went.

That was not the case with The Lamplighters League—until now.

Back when we first started work on The Lamplighters League, we had some big ideas. We wanted a game that was approachable but that maintained a tactical challenge. We set out to create a game that was wry and fun, but never crossed over into camp or silliness. Above it all we wanted to send you an adventure, an adventure where you command characters, not units.

Did we pull it off? That’s up to you to decide.
