Hi all!

Wow, it’s been a whole year since Children of Silentown came out! ✨🔥

Many thanks to everyone that has decided to come for a visit, and for the many positive reviews! ❤️
We hope many others will find our spooky little village a fun destination for sightseeing in the future. 🎃

To celebrate the anniversary, we created a couple of designs for t-shirts and stuff!
We made them for free, for anyone that liked the game and wanted something to remember it by. (oh the feels!)

Last but not least, the bugfixes:
- [BLOCKING] Using an item on a character and holding the left mouse button while hovering the item menu can break the sequence and softlock the player.
- Tiny teleport area causes the player to get lost in the third layer of the forest trunk area
- Controller: New Game Plus button is invisible but active also on not-New Game Plus slots
- Upgrade from Unity 2018.4.23f1 to 2018.4.36f1

Hello!

PC and consoles together, Children of Silentown has sold a whoppin’ 30.000 copies!
That's a lot of pesky cats! 🐱

We are a very small team and we are incredibly happy that so many people have decided to take a look at our little Silentown. Thank you, it means a lot to us. ❤️

PS: Discounts are on again, so if you'd like to recommend the game to a friend, now's the right time!
There's also the Prologue if someone wants just to try the game out (now also available on Steam deck like the completed game).

The Prologue is back

We just uploaded a new, shiny version of the Prologue* for Children of Silentown! 💫

Just to be clear, this Prologue covers the very start of the adventure, and is intended for new players that might be interested in playing the game, but are not quite sure yet if it's their thing or not - so if you have any friends that could be curious about it, let them know! (and if they like it, show them our last announcement)😊

Patch 1.1.4. in time for Summer Sale!

Hello adventurers!

Can you believe it's already been a thrilling six months since we released Children of Silentown? 🎂🎉 Time really does fly when you're having fun and patching up game bugs, eh?

We want to express our gratitude to everyone for being with us on this journey. Your feedback, discussions, and enthusiasm have been the driving force behind our ongoing commitment to improving the game.

But hold on, we've got some scorching hot news for you! 🔥 The game is currently on discount for the Summer Sales! So, if you have friends who haven't yet had the chance to explore Silentown and solve its mysteries, there's no better time than now! Let them know, alright? 😉

Moving on to the updates, we're pleased to announce the release of patch 1.1.4. This update addresses several issues related to the Second Run / New Game feature:

[BLOCKING] Firewood chest was open from the beginning when furball sticker was already in the inventory. This issue has now been resolved.
Fixed Thibescus in the islands couldn't be taken: Those elusive Thibescus should now be able to be picked up as intended.
Barn items couldn't be taken. Same issue, same solution :D

Chapters Patch is live

Hello there!

It’s been roughly two months since release, how time flies! 🦋

We are glad to see so many of you enjoying our work - many thanks y’all for the support! 🌞

On our side, we have been hard at work to introduce some much needed QoL improvements for after you complete the game for the first time.

Now, upon completing the game once you now unlock (on the same save):

Chapter select - to play any chapter you like! (but be careful - if you want a specific best friend to appear you-know-where, you have to play the game from Chapter 1).
Minigame skip - in case you don’t want to solve them again
Persistent collectibles and last song notes!

We’ve also added a fix for many small issues you have reported so far:

(BLOCKING) Occasional issue in the Forest with the rope puzzles in Chapter 5;
(Soft-BLOCKING) Carillon being unresponsive after singing to it in Chapter 4;
Some audios of the game were not affected by game options (i.e. cutscenes, some SFX);
The Mother's minigame was giving "success" when exiting the minigame without solving it in the Forest;
Minor updates/fixes to Italian and Turkish localizations;
"Save" and "Load" buttons properly localized;
Fire sound active with no fire visible in Chapter 2;
Broken animation in the climbing puzzle in the Forest (when using the key on the stone column);
Broken animation during the monster reveal scene in Chapter 5;
A few broken character animations during the game;
Bench D2 missing "cogs" icon when the playground is interactable;
Lucy was walking through walls during the “dark village” scene in Chapter 4.

Chapter Select on NG+ available in branch!

Hello hello!

Our launch week is almost over, and what week it was! 🔥🔥🔥

Many thanks again to everyone who has played the game, and special thanks for all the feedback!! 🎶😸

We are hard at work to fix bugs and issues, but also reading reviews and comments to see what QoL improvements people need the most… one of which is “Chapter Select on NG+”: we deployed this feature on a branch, so if you are interested go and check it out!

Notes:

The feature works on saves where you reached the ending at least once (NG+)
The feature is not fully tested, so we will rely on your help to make it better 😀
We strongly suggest to make a backup of your save files
You can find them at:
C:\Users\[YOUR_NAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Daedalic Entertainment GmbH\ChildrenOfSilentown
Hopefully you will not encounter bugs, but you might - reach out in case.
Due to how the game works, you will not be able to obtain the “Friend” achievement using Chapter Select, that is the only achievement that requires to fully replay the game.

Heyho everyone!

It has been an exciting development cycle ... but we are delighted to announce that today is the day! Our new point&click adventure Children Of Silentown releases TODAY!

It is finally time for you to get this traditional point&click adventure with modern features, well balanced puzzles and mini games, and a mystery that needs solving! Enjoy the most beautiful soundtrack while exploring this delightfully drawn, Burtonesque world and take in its both wholesome yet eerie vibes.

Interact with the townspeople (and animals!), play with your friends, collect in-game stickers, achievements, and learn more about what no grown-up dares to talk about: the forest. Don’t forget the most important question, though: Who is really faster, the hedgehog or the frog?
