Welcome to Low Priority...
So you got Low Priority, huh? I bet you're wondering why now, right? Well, look no further. I'll explain...
Why you THINK you got Low Priority
  • I'm too good. The other team was jealous of me.
  • Everyone else sucks but me. My team got mad at me because they're just not on my level.
  • I got reported just because I'm [insert religion/race/ethnic origin/sexual orientation here.]
  • I only left one game!
  • I was only AFK/DC'd for a couple of minutes!
  • I got reported by everyone in one match!
  • I was being helpful but nobody wants to listen to my advice!
Why you actually got Low Priority
  • Reports from the same parties don't stack for the purposes of Low Priority.(Q. 7) You were not reported by "everyone." Someone yelling "Report X!" usually means they don't have any reports to use.
  • Reports for communication abuse only result in a temporary chat ban, and lowering of your behavior score. You cannot receive Low Priority from communication abuse reports. Note: If your behavior score falls below 3000, you will be permanently muted as long as it's below the threshold.
  • You got multiple abandons within the same grace period or an abandon combined with other reports.
  • You DC'd for 5 minutes or more in a game. Your total time spent DC'd is counted against you. It doesn't matter if you finish the game and whether you win or not. It doesn't matter if an asteroid hit your house. If you DC for 5 minutes or more then you get an abandon.
  • You AFK'd for 5 minutes or more in a game. Looking at you Techies. If you don't get any XP for 5 minutes you automatically get assessed an abandon. It doesn't matter if you finish the game and whether you win or not. It doesn't matter if your house was sucked up into a tornado and whisked away to a magical land. You AFK for 5 minutes or more then you get an abandon.
  • You intentionally left/ragequit. You know what you did. Pretty obvious.
  • You intentionally griefed your own team, non-participation, AFK jungling, shadow orbing, fighting over lanes/roles, ward griefing, etc.
  • There's a fine line between being helpful, asking for help, making friendly suggestions, using constructive criticism and being a complete and total dbag. A very, VERY fine line. If you pepper your "helpful" suggestions with profanity and other insults, then you're not being as "helpful" as you think you are.
  • You THINK you're better than everyone else...you're not. And if you have multiple Dota accounts with hundreds to thousands of hours played and you still can't get out of X mmr because "My teammates all suck!" then you're probably in the mmr you belong in.
  • If you "always" have feeders on your team but never complain when there's a feeder(s) on the other team, and never own up to your own feeding then you're probably not as good as you think.
  • You feed...a lot. It's easy to point out other players' mistakes while you ignore your own.
  • You did great...if Dota 2 was a single player RPG, but you left the rest of your team hung out to dry.

Well, in my case I got low priority without knowing that leaving a game is a reason to recieve that kind of penalty. So, due to my ignorance, and because I play casual with the game, I recieved it. Thanks for your guides!

yeah but like, it's more of a lobby abandon.
ah well; I don't even know if I should bother playing anymore, I've just been persisting in a world of nightmares.

@Clancy Abandons are quite obviously listed in the reasons to get Low Priority in this guide.

none of these reasons fit me, I merely got in because I abandoned some matches that were given to me before they started.

Sometimes these reports throw decent players into low prio anyways because the toxic players just want to throw a fit and blame someone for their loss

I don't remember my first abandon and then I had to DC for macaroni, it lasted long enough for another abandon. Now I have 5 LP matches as a result. #worthit

I sometimes go to LP for telling third worlders insults they can't even begin to comprehend

And their salt is worth every report.

a guy told everyone in the match to "report this fucker because hes so gay, who even uses juggernaut anymore?"
