to everyone asking about FOV slider: it's from this or this mods

Important: for modders. Previous conflicts now have been resolved by changing material paths, but still, if you want to reuse some of the effects here, please, do make effort to completely rename all effect names and material paths when doing so, so that materials don't conflict and effects don't overwrite each other.

FAQ:
- What is this?
These are custom particle effects that are used by certain weapon mods, like weapon models by Lt.Rocky,Dr.Haus, and others.
- What does it do?
Itself alone, it doesn't do anything. Think of it as an extension to those mods that use it... it only contains custom effects that some mods use.

Status Update:
Currently, the mod is ~50% updated. Some effects like smoke are still need some tweaking.
If you find any problems, bugs, suggestions, please provide details when reporting / commenting on those.
Please understand that I have no control over other people's mods, and how they use the effects, so there's no way of predicting how it will look on different weapon releases.

History: As far as I know, initially, these effects come from CS:Source and they were made by someone who went by name of Zira. Then another modder, Dr.Haus, had the initiative to port them over to L4D2. I stepped in at some point because of my hand in particles and it was advantageous to combine all effects in one mod to avoid conflicts. At this point, I have quit modding and no longer support or update any of my mods.

this mod causes the game to engine error which makes no sense because i keep crashing everytime spitter spits for some reason and its 100% crashes the game

It's very strange. I subscribed to a weapon mod that does not require this mod (at least the author did not indicate the necessity of this mod), but the console still has a lot of errors about particle effects. Every time I switch to the main weapon, it will appear

Note: Disable or Delete this MOD when you're playing in CUSTOM ADD ONS. Some Maps will be just fine BUT some Maps will CRASH YOUR GAME. I used this Mod in DAYBREAK MAP 3 it always crashes but when I disable it, nothing happened!

this is special required particles for certain guns
still working just fine for me, I guess I don't need the other variations
got some new guns recently and the console was a hot mess
after suddenly remembering this and getting it the console was cleaned
