~Wasteland Workshop DLC~

"With the Wasteland Workshop, design and set cages to capture live creatures – from raiders to Deathclaws! Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements like nixie tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more!"

Docile
-Docile:
"Have 5 Tamed Creatures in a Settlement"

For this achievement, you need 5 Tamed creatures in a settlement at the same time. Creatures are counted as "tamed" by releasing a trapped creature, in the presence of a beta wave emitter. It will take several seconds of remaining docile outside of the cage's confines (they do not spawn into the settlement until the closed cage is opened by shutting off the power) for the creature to count as "tamed."

To make this easier do not wire the cage and the beta wave emitter to the same power source otherwise the creature will be released and become hostile because the beta wave emitter was switched off at the same time as the cage.

NOTE: This achievement requires normally hostile creatures so domestic animals will not work, such as house cats, dogs or gorillas.

I would also recommend taming 5 of the same creatures, e.g. 5 deathclaws, because different animals are still hostile to one another even in the presence of beta wave emitters.

To conclude, build and power 5 cages of the same type of normally hostile creatures. (Not raiders or super mutants.) Then power these cages, and have at least one beta wave emitter nearby the cages which is also powered and on all the time. Once the cages are closed turn their power sources off and the animals will be released. Achievement should pop after 5 creatures have been released.
Instigator
-Instigator:
"Start a Spectated Arena Fight in a Settlement"

To start an arena fight, build the blue and red arena pads near one another and then assign creatures or settlers to them with the workshop interface. Prior to beginning the fight, build and activate the quitting time siren in order for the fight to be considered spectated, otherwise the achievement will not be unlocked.

After assigning contestants to each arena pad, they will be immediately hostile towards one another and attack on sight. To work around this, assign only one person to either pad, then build walls around them to obstruct their view of the other pad. Activate the quitting time siren to draw the settlers near, then assign one to the opposite colour pad and remove the walls or use an electric door.

I think the easiest way is to build a little arena and follow the above instructions. Using 2 settlers is easiest but one will die so save beforehand if you care about your settlers.
Trapper
-Trapper:
"Build One of Every Cage Type"

For this achievement, you will need lots of steel, copper, and gears. These are the main resources required for the cages. Different cages also want different 'food' requirements too. Example, canned dog food for a dog or radroach meat for a mole rat etc.

The cages do not all have to be built at the same settlement, and nor do they have to successfully catch an enemy or creature, nor do they even have to be supplied with electricity. The achievement pops when the 15th cage is built. Furthermore, only the default cages are required for the achievement.

Cages:
    • Small Cages
  • Cat cage - 6x steel, 1x copper, 2x softshell mirelurk meat
  • Dog cage - 6x steel, 1x copper, 3x canned dog food
  • Mutant hound cage - 6x steel, 1x copper, 4x radroach meat
  • Mole rat cage - 6x steel, 1x copper, 2x brahmin meat

    • Medium Cages

  • Feral ghoul cage - 10x steel, 2x copper, 4x mongrel dog meat
  • Gunner cage - 10x steel, 2x copper, 500x bottle caps
  • Insect cage - 10x steel, 2x copper, 4x mole rat meat
  • Raider cage - 10x steel, 2x copper, 6x jet
  • Super mutant cage - 10x steel, 2x copper, 5x brahmin meat

    • Large Cages

  • Brahmin cage - 16x steel, 4x copper, 4x gears, 4x razorgrain
  • Deathclaw cage - 16x steel, 4x copper, 4x gears, 4x yao guai meat
  • Mirelurk cage - 16x steel, 4x copper, 4x gears, 4x mirelurk egg
  • Radscorpion cage - 16x steel, 4x copper, 4x gears, 4x stingwing meat
  • Radstag cage - 16x steel, 4x copper, 4x gears, 4x carrot
  • Yao guai cage - 16x steel, 4x copper, 4x gears, 4x radstag meat

~Contraptions Workshop~

"Machines that sort! Machines that build! Machines that combine! With Fallout 4 Contraptions, use conveyer belts, scaffolding kits, track kits, even logic gates to construct crazy and complex gadgets to improve your Wasteland settlements. The Contraptions Workshop also includes all-new features like elevators, greenhouse kits, warehouse kits, fireworks, armor racks and more!"

Show Off
-Show Off:
"Display a weapon on a weapon rack, armor on an armor rack, and power armor in a power armor display"

This achievement, really shouldn't be that hard, assuming you have a weapon, at least one piece of armor and have played the first couple of quests. If you haven't done any of those things, have you played the game yet?

Simply construct a weapon display for your type of weapon of choice. (Melee, Pistol etc.) and then also build a armor display and a power armor display.

The weapon rack will cost you some wood (x2 or x3) and steel (x2 or x6).

The armor rack will cost you some cloth (x1) and wood (x4).

The power armor display will cost you some Aluminum (x12), Circuitry (x3), Fiberglass (x6), Gears (x6), Oil (x4), Plastic (x4) and Screws (x4).

Once you have constructed these items, place any weapon, any piece of armor (one is enough for the achievement) and any piece of power armor. These can all be retrieved and swapped after placing them on the display.
Time Out
-Time Out:
"Assign a settler to a pillory"

Another easy achievement. Build a pillory from Resources → Miscellaneous in the workshop. Then simply assign a settler as you would with any other resource etc. The achievement is yours.

Pillory costs one concrete and four wood.
Mass Production
-Mass Production:
"Produce 100 objects from your builders"

Builders can be crafted from Circuitry x2, Gears x3, Rubber x4, Steel x10. It is used to create various 'junk' items from scrapped items and components stored in the machine's inventory. The machine requires 8 power to operate.

The simplest way for the achievement, if you're not going to use builders, is by placing a few and powering them up, then filling their inventories with as much steel each as you've got and they will start making steel balls. 500 steel should be enough and it's quite easy to get enough.

If you don't want to use all your steel, quicksave beforehand.

It took only a couple of minutes for me.
~Vault-Tec Workshop~
"Build a brighter future underground with the all-new Vault-Tec Workshop. Create a massive Vault and attract new Dwellers using pre-war industrial kits complete with retro-nostalgic furniture, lighting, and art. Even change and customize the look of your inhabitants with new barbershops and cosmetic surgery stations. And like every good Overseer, run Vault-Tec approved experiments on your Dwellers to learn what makes an ideal citizen. Vault-Tec has given you the tools, the rest is up to you!"

Oversight
-Oversight:
"Become Overseer"

There are four ways of becoming Overseer in this DLC. The way I recommned is by playing through the main story and letting Valery Barstow to leave at the end of "Lady Luck". This will grant the achievement.

The other three are:
  • Kill Valery Barstow at any time (You will fail all undone story quests for the DLC.)
  • Expel Barstow from the Vault during the quest A Model Citizen.
  • Get her to leave through unsatisfactory experiment results.

The best way is to do the story quests and then let her leave. But if you just want the achievement I would recommend killing her as the next easiest.
Better Living Underground
-Better Living Underground:
"Unlock all build areas of Vault 88"

When playing through the main story you will unlock an optional quest called "Explore Vault 88". You can simply follow the objective markers and finish this quest for the achievement.

If you failed the story by killing the Overseer then follow the walkthroughs on the wiki: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Explore_Vault_88
Vault Dweller
-Vault Dweller:
"Equip Vault 88 suit and Pip-boy on a settler"

The Overseer will actually ask you to give the settler, Clem, these in the DLC story. If you don't want to do the story or killed the Overseer then simply pick up a Vault 88 suit and Pip-boy from the entrance to Vault 88 and give it to any settler at any settlement.

Man thanks so much for all your guides they are so well detailed. Shame so many people missed on the features of the DLCs and downvoted them. Personally I like all of them including the factorio like DLC.

I would assume you have to use junk builders.

Now waiting for the Brahmin to "produce" some fertilizer so I can get the ammo factory going; will that pop the "Mass Production" achievement or do I have to use the junk builder?

Just bare in mind that if you have mods, that might disable achievements. Also just check that everything is done correctly, like having an item actually on the correct stands.

How can i have completed some of these. like "show off" but it's not in my achievements?

for the Mass Production achievement, you really only need 500 steel, not 1000 steel. nice guide btw

Fallout 4 on steam has 84 achievements. 50 are obtainable without purchasing the DLC but the other 34 achievements are unlocked by various DLC.

Do these achivments get added to my 84 achivments or are they already there

For Arena achievement, you can also use essential NPCs. The fight is considered to be over, once they're knocked out. This way you don't lose anyone, if you even care about settlers at all...
