Guide: 'Name changed by author', what does it mean?
You may have seen a missing asset like this one in the Assets report:

British Airways A320 prop Used by: British Airways Plane Bay You have BRITISH AIRWAYS A320 prop but it does not contain British Airways A320 prop.
Name probably changed by the asset author.

What does it mean?

The Plane Bay building tries to include the prop but the prop is not found inside the prop package. This happens because the prop author has updated the prop and changed the asset name. The building, which expects to find British Airways A320 prop, is no longer able to include the prop by that name.

You can verify the problem by loading the prop in Asset Editor and checking its Asset Name there.

Can this break my save?

No. A missing prop, like the one above, will not break a save.

On the other hand, if the missing asset is a building or net (road) that is placed in the city, then it is possible that harm is done.

What can I do?

Let asset authors know that once published, asset names should not be changed.
