Can someone help me run csgo better
CS: GO doesn't run great for me, averaging inbetween 20-40 fps... here's my specs

Intel HD 3000
core i7
8gb ram

i've put some commands in the launch options for steam, and that helped a bit.. I also have windows 7 if that helps. thanks

Dude you are playing on a Laptop with On-Board Graphics Card. Buy a desktop PC.

you can only push your igpu so far to its limits, specially an HD3000, your best bet is playing Counter-strike source or 1.6 that is if you really want to have fun playing counter-strike on your system, but if you're stubborn about keeping with the fad then I'll help you out.

Click on your cs:go launcher on Steam and click on "Properties", in there click on "set launch options" and type the following:
-novid -high -threads 4 -nojoy +cl_forcepreload 1 -nod3d9ex

“-novid” Skips Valve intro sequence at launch

“-high” Prioritizes CPU resources to CS:GO

“-threads 4” Dictates how many threads your CPU prioritizes for the game (The description you gave about your CPU is vague as heck, with that I presume it's a 4C 8T old intel i7 CPU if not, change to
-threads 2

“-nod3d9ex” disables ALT+TAB UI that is graphically accelerated, making it more snappy and less fancy

“-nojoy” Disables joystick PnP

“+cl_forcepreload 1” You should get a slight boost in fps with this setting since it will cache the maps you previously played, basically optimizes them on the second run on said maps you played.

CS:GO is more CPU bound than GPU, so if anything this little "plug-in" should balance it out for a better output in performance for you, if this still doesn't improve your experience even slightly, then force close your background programs in your task manager, if it still being stubborn, then you should look into fresh OS install.

if you want to go full low spec gamer but don't have the brains for coding, you can always check this software:

You should really look into buying a new rig, at least a modern entry level.

Thanks dude! I appreciate the help. That's just a temporary rig I use when I visit my mom, I have a very high quality computer to use 99% of the time. I think I already applied some of those fixes, but thanks for the help.

sure np, just be more specific and less vague about your scenario and hardware specs in the future.
