Well the proper ruins are available in the mod now, so you shouldn't need to use those white blocks in the future.
I moddeled a map myself.

Aren't your battlements upside down? You should be able to slot them in the other way up, you may need to put a temporary level in front of them to stop them falling forwards. But once locked you can delete any "scaffolding".
The ladders should be easy to place but not to use (there's no way to "clip" a figure onto the ladder sections). Maybe with the new joints system you can attach figures to them but the new physics options don't seem very practical to me.
