It likely will be.
The bullsquid and vortigaunt should already be fixed. I'll update the grunt soon.
Their remade monster sounds don't have that level of "alien creativity" in them (as they do in Half-Life). Majority of the "new replacement sounds" for the classic monsters that didn't appear in Half-Life 2 are just literally copied and tweaked from other existing miscellaneous sound libraries that you hear elsewhere. For instance, the Gargantua and Gonarch don't have that level of "alien" in their sounds anymore, they just use generic dinosaur sounds.
(Which is really a big downer for me because I love the level of "alien sounding creativity" those two big guys have in Half-Life, which is why they are two of some of my most favorite enemies in that game, but I fricking hate them in this one instead because of their "remade" sound design decisions.)
Others, on the other hand, which are the Zombies and Nihilianth, sound too "simple" in their voice acting and tweaking from what they are in Half-Life 2 and Half-life itself as what I call "advanced", the latter being this fan game's intended fan-made remake.
(The only monster sounds that probably don't count in my con list for this game are probably the tentacles. But I don't really know because I haven't played the game myself in a while, but I have seen multiple gameplay videos lately, and no one has made any videos showcasing the "fan-remade" monster sounds yet, besides the zombies.)
Yeah I should do that sometime soon.
I love the old sounds, and I agree about the new replacements. Most of the new ones just sound kind of generic, or like they didn't want people to notice them.
Yeah, sometime. I don't have much time to work on anything like that right now though.
Hopefully, you'll remake the zombie one of these days, I really dislike the Black Mesa headcrab zombie, the textures are too dark and the model is messy in general, it's hard to see the features that make the headcrab zombie cool (the chest cavity being barely visible for example)
Thanks. I want to make a zombie model eventually but it will probably be one of the more difficult ones.
It is.
