This mod is still bugged back from 1.3; Colonists of certain races will continue pickup weapons over and over and over on their own, even when you don't give them weapons, leading to inventories full of them. This bug still occurs in 1.5.

Having a pretty serious issue with pawns refusing to "forget" previously picked up weapons (right-clicking on a weapon in the Sidearms window, to make them forget it). When I tell them to equip a different gun, they immediately drop it, then go pick up & re-equip the gun they had previously.

Until this bug is fixed, the mod is completely unusable for me, as it's impossible to make my pawns actually equip & use the weapons they're supposed to.

Mod no longer seems to recognize disabled sidearms as disabled. Even with settings changed, everyone and their brother sleeping with a chunk of f**king wood under their pillow, + my non-combative pawns are always trying to raid the armoury for the good guns even though I keep making them forget all their sidearms, disable combat jobs, etc.

I don't think this mod is compatible with mods including shield. I use Yayo combat extend + medieval expanded and can only equip either shield or weapon instead of both. As weapon&shield is considered as a sidearm

Finally. If I could remember things precisely and accurately for long enough, and see well enough, I wouldn't have this trouble. Clearly I'm dying of old age already. I thought this was called the pockets mod, because of the description, and I couldn't find it.again using the same search settings. Simple sidearms. Great. I was looking for pockets and backpacks, and the ability to switch from tools to weapons and vice versa.
