Automatic LCDs 2

Descripción
Everything you will ever need to know about your ship and station displayed in real time on LCD panels in any vanilla games. modded games and servers! Now with cockpit panels support!

Thank all of you for making amazing creations with this script, using it and helping each other use it. Its 2024 - it's been 9 years already since I uploaded first Configurable Automatic LCDs script and you are all still using it (in "a bit" upgraded form). Its just amazing :)

v:2.0194 (Signal update compatibility; Cargo title override)
In-game script by MMaster

Programmable blocks and in-game scripts are now in "Experimental mode" in game that you need to turn on in game options and advanced world settings.

Last Update: Check change notes above

This is in-game script, not a mod, you will not find it in in-game mods.

Basics video guide
This guide is quite old, but still applicable. (timer block is not needed, few interface changes)

Every captain wants to have displays that show some useful info. Make your bridge display damaged blocks in engineering, engine room, etc. Make big screen by joining multiple Wide LCDs! Show power output, batteries status, laser antenna connections and much more. Make your docking bay display which landing gears are occupied. Make screens for docking fighers when landing gear is ready to dock so they can nicely see it from cockpit! Make one LCD per container to see its contents.. and much more!

HOW TO UPDATE?
This script is not a mod so it does not update by itself. You need to load new version of script to your programmable block to overwrite the old one. You do that in exactly the same way as when you first loaded the script into programmable block.
Open your programmable block, click Edit, click Browse Workshop, select Automatic LCDs 2, click OK, Check code, Remember & Exit. Done. Your script is now updated.

RATING
If you like this script please give it positive rating, it gives me "fuel" to continue.
If you plan to give it negative rating, please at least let me know what makes it deserve negative rating so I can learn from it and/or fix it.

!! PLEASE READ THIS !!
I'm really happy that this script became so popular and that so many people like it, but many people means many questions and I rather enjoy other things than saying the same things all over again to people. So I wrote the guide where I've put everything about every command, tried to answer all questions that people had in comments and I keep it updated. I'm responding to many comments that are stated in the guide. Please read the guide.

If you've got questions, but you don't want to read the guide, then this script is probably not for you.

I understand that this script got quite a lot of features and it can be hard to crunch whole guide. Unfortunately I can't teach everyone how to use it via chat. It took me several hundreds of hours to put this all together so please take your time to read the guide and follow the troubleshooting section if something doesn't work.

If you have problem with some command then read the guide section for that command and make sure you use it correctly. Try to use it on separate LCD by itself so it's easier for you to see the issue and definitely try some examples!

You are the space engineers so go ahead and play with it and figure it out :)

Thank you very much for your understanding.

@LukeStrike booting is special case with minimal functionality.

There is no such functionality built into the script.

You could possibly use manual scrolling to scroll X lines (however many lines are one page on the LCD).

You just need to figure out the way to trigger it automatically eg using timer block that runs the scroll for one page, triggers next timer block that runs it for next page, etc, until final timer block that scrolls 99999 lines up and starts first timer block.

There are probably better ways to do this, but just to give you an idea.

Hi,
Even better than when I started to use this script years ago :)
I'd like to know if it's possible to display text "page per page" instead of scrolling ? I mean 1 page, wait x seconds, second page, wait, etc (and loop). I have 1 screen on a control seat dedicated to the "manual" (each function on each shortcut bar) and I would like one page per bar ...
There is something "similar" but for booting only if I understand well ?

Thanks,
LKS

@Troller author of the translation probably decided to remove it - there is nothing I can do about that as translations are maintained by the community so someone else will probably have to create PT translation.
@Into it is not possible to disable scrolling of specific lines

Hello engineers, does anyone know what happened to the Portuguese version of this script? It simply disappeared. I was subscribed to it, but out of nowhere, it disappeared.

Is it possible to disable scroll for specific lines? Like a header for instance

If I ain't mistaking it, a cockpit holds 60L of oxygen, how do I display stored Cockpit Oxygen?

From the "How to use with cockpits?" section of the guide linked above.
"Unfortunately you are not able to use manual scrolling or panel linking on those screens."

Also, I don't think it is possible to read LCD's from multi LCD blocks with the TextLCD command.
Cuteseals2 14 SEP a las 9:01 p. m.
I have a question involving multi-screen LCD blocks such as cockpits or in my case the inset button panel. Is there any specific reason manual scrolling doesn't work with them? Is it possible to make it work but only one of the screens on the block?
