Medic Cosmetic Textures (ALL FIXED)

In 1 collection by A Majestic Zombie
ALL Paintable Cosmetic Texture Fixes.
10 items
Description
All those unpaintable cosmetics stuck black? I went and fixed all their textures I could find as best I could.
Except Robotic Boogaloo items, someone else already did those and I don't feel like remaking them yet.

Note, for these to properly work, you must have Workshop's search path over TF's in SDK.
To do that, you will need to open SFM, but the first prompt provided, you will select SDK. The SDK menu will then come up and the bottom most "Edit Search Path" option is what you need to open. From there it's as simple as dragging Workshop above TF and you're done!

Now in the case this doesn't work or some textures seem to be missing out of the addon shown, here are the files themselves on Google Drive.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1qkv72cf2RV6sueRnuzwOxgCLZxRCR7_e

The 'materials' folder goes in:
"Steam\steamapps\common\SourceFilmmaker\game\usermod"
If done properly, the materials folder for this addon should go inside the materials folder that already exists in Usermod.

ALSO, some of these cosmetics are of their UPDATED variations, meaning that if your SFM has not been manually updated to obtain these cosmetics, the material fixes for them will not work properly.

This does not include robot hats since there's another addon elsewhere in Workshop specifically for those.

If there are any problems with this addon, or I missed any, let me know.

I don't know what to tell you then. If extracted right, you should wind up having every model/material up to date in your TF directory in SFM. And assuming your model navigation doesn't have its search narrowed to something other than "All Mods" or "TF", they should appear.

thats what ive done 8 times and it hasnt worked

Ah, yeah, in this case, this addon will apply a texture meant for a newer model. Which will more than likely appear backwards. If you wanted this fix to work, you'd need to extract files from TF2.
Plus the updated version of the Colonel's Coat looks a lot better in my opinion.

appreciate the response. i see now after some investigating that its only paint fixs. and yes that is the misc i was struggling with.

The only files that should exist within this addon should be within "SourceFilmmaker\Workshop\Materials\Models\Workshop\Player\Items\Medic". There are no other folders located elsewhere. And said folders should only contain .VTF files.

The fixes ARE in fact only fixes for the paint issues, and for updated variants at that. Unfortunately if you have the original version of a cosmetic prior to the 2015 patch, such as the Colonel's Coat, these fixes may not apply to that. At least not correctly.
However, SFM can be updated by extracting files from TF2 via GCFScape in case that may be what you want.

You're welcome to tell me about the problems encountered and I'll give my input ASAP.

the materials folder that isnt workshop doesnt seem to exist for medic. as well as is this a paint only fix cause i cant see a proper fix for half the cosmetics listed.

I don't know how to do that but I'll try my best

The Doc's Holiday is one of the few cosmetics that had been later updated, so it's entirely possible that you might have the outdated version and need to extract files from TF2 directly to get the newer models.

I was wondering if there was a way to fix the doc's holiday? everytime I try to add it it has white cubes all over it.
