What is ReBuild?
ReBuild is another mod in my series of vanilla friendly enhancements for Rimworld, focusing on adding content that should or could have been added by Ludeon themselves. Like always it is my main priority to make sure the content fits vanilla Rimworld, not just in art and design, but also how it is integrated and works hand in hand with vanilla features.

Doors and Corners, the name being a reference to The Expanse, is the first module focusing on expanding the options you have for building your base. From new walls, to door, floors, retextures and overhauls.

ReBuild is designed to be as lightweight as possible, adding the minimum of new code required for its additions to work.

These mods do not work with ReBuild, or aren't recommended to be used together.
  • Perspective: Doors (is included in this mod!)
  • Door Clearance (is included in this mod!)
  • Don't Block Door (Alternative feature is included!)
  • Silent Doors (Continued) (is included in this mod!)
Any other mod that retextures vanilla walls or doors will probably not work.


Q: Can this mod be added to an existing save?
A: Yes it can!

Q: Can this mod be removed from a save?
A: It's not recommended, no! But it should not cause any issues.

Q: Is this mod part of the Vanilla Expanded Series?
A: No.

Q: Does the mod change Rimworlds balance?
A: Yes, any mod that adds new content does.

Q: Mod Options don't work!?
A: Make sure to restart the game! Most options require a restart.

Q: Will you make a 1.4 version?
A: No.

Q: Dubs Hygiene's stall doors don't work with perspective doors!
A: Not something I can fix and if I hear it one more time I will scream. Ask dubs.

Q: Glass walls don't let light in from the outside.
A: And they probably never will. Rimworld handles "natural" light and light from, for example, a lamp differently. So far we have not found a way to make natural light "shine" inside. We are rather simulating the effects of natural light inside the walls radius for plant growth.

  • Oskar Potocki, who gave us permission to retexture many of his textures.
  • Screenshots are made using different VES faction bases and quest locations.

Would it be possible to make it so you can choose which material(stuff) uses which texture for the rustic walls?

Everything works except for perspective doors. I have no other similar mod downloaded.

Ah, sorry, re-reading that comment it's coming across as way more demanding than I intended. It's a balancing problem but not like... a major one. So go ahead and ignore me if you acrually prefer it this way.

So your Dubs Skylights patch completely invalidates the larger sizes of skylight. There's just literally never a good reason to use anything but the 1x1 panel. The default balancing for it is based around the ratio of materials costs to lit area, with the 1x1 and 1x4 panels topping out at 9:1, but the 2x2 and 3x3 panels still don't go below 8:1 so they're an acceptable approximation. But with the rebalance to one glass per one tile size, the 1x1 panel still tops out at 9:1 but everything else drops in efficiency massively. The BEST of the larger panels is the 1x4, which is now flatly half as much light per glass, 4.5:1

I'm sure with a midgame base that's had some time to accumulate a good stock of glass this is barely even a concern, but it remains an uncomfortable waste.

Hi, would you be able to include a patch for Extinguish Refuelables? I tried patching it myself but it doesnt work that easily as your fireplaces have an own class instead of the default "CompProperties_FireOverlay". Would be greatly appreciating if you could take a look at it, as I imagine it could be relatively easy if you know your code and would make my day :D

I think there is a problem with "Vanilla Textures Expanded - Variations". I cannot change door variants provided by the mod. Everything else works.

This one is arguably a very stupid request but, is there any plans for a 3 wide normal door? It’s really only cosmetic since mechanically you can just center a normal door, but it’d be nice to have.
