Wil's Fools Road

This mod contains a re-imagined map of Fools Road with upgraded foliage, updated ground textures, new points of interest, and other terrain changes.

IMPORTANT NEWS!!

The next version (8.0) of this mod will be a big update. Expect primary integration with SquidBots Zeus, some additional map changes, and updates to POI's. Vanilla layers will be fully implemented using some new points or tweaked existing points.

At this time, I am focusing on finishing the map before adding in more layers. More then likely the *original* layers added to this mod will also need to be completely redone and will not be part of the upcoming update. Once the map is finished, I plan on doing a layer overhaul.

Change Spotlight
Updated for version 8

Terrain changes around Hill 24, Homestead Hills, and Fortress, Hill 20, Hill 12, Ridgeline, North Road Pass, Ruins, Elm Farmstead, and other POIs. The water has been slightly changed to produce less of a white glow.

The map needs to be updated to reflect the changes. I have a few small terrain changes in the pipeline before rendering a decent-looking map.

At this time, this mod is mostly feature complete, however, the tunnel and underground compound for OP Fortress need another pass but are playable. There may be some floating foliage still, I am working on cleaning it up.

I will be updating all the layers to support the new faction voting system, however, this will take some time to perform. I also plan on keeping the current layers as archives for those who don't want the voting system.

I also plan on incorporating the Squad Zeus mod into this mod and moving it away from the Event Layers pack.

Updates will be slower as I do not have as much time to work on this project at the moment.

Experimental Feature

Some buildings and towers around the map (mostly in new POI's) will spawn a random building from a 'list'. This is an experimental feature at this time.

Most likely will be dropping a Zeus version after 8.0 and Squidbots is updated to 8.0. It is all working right now at this time in the most current build that I am waiting to upload on.

Fools Road has been around in the Squad community for a while and liked by many. With Wil's update undoubtedly this rework will be LOVED by everyone! You can clearly see the amount of thought that has gone in to making fools road more playable and enjoyable for everyone with this mod. Would love to see OWI pick it up and put it into the vanilla game

No mods needed to be updates for 6.0.1 as there was no SDK update. This will work just fine.

The map size is still the same size as Fools Road (1760 x 1760 m (3.1 km²))
