Muzzle Flash

Description
This is a visual effect mod. This mod adds flame effects to the gun muzzle and lightning effects to the charged weapons.

Built-in patch for some mods, the patches list is shown in the discussion area

Compatibility:

Currently no conflict with other mods have been found, but some of the retexture mods may cause the gun muzzle and effects to not align properly.

Q&A:

Q: Will this mod affect game performance?
A: No, this mod uses multi-threading and GPU instancing for rendering, and can handle 10k of gun flames on screen without lag. You don't have to worry about performance issues.

Q: Can I add this mod in the mid-game?
A: Yes, you can add or remove this mod when ever u want

Q: Can I make patches for other mods?
A: Yes, you can reference the XML of the built-in patches.

For modders who want to make the muzzle flash patch

The is a tool in the debug menu to hot reload the muzzle flash patches:
Debug Actions Menu -> Muzzle Flash -> Reload Safe Patcher
You don't need to restart your game to refresh your patches.

You can make a pull request to http://github.com/IssacZhuang/Rimworld-Mod-Muzzle_Flash if you want to make some patches as the built-in patches.
You can also integrate the patches in your own mod or publish the patches as an individual mod.

I'm writing a patch, and it seems like the values set directly in modExtensions in the def folder are not being loaded in the debug menu, is that correct?

Update 2024.9.15

[1] Performance optimization, This mod is fast enough in the previous version but it is faster and less memory usage now.

[2] Bug fixed: the shaders are not rendering on the Linux and Mac OS
