Description
Set up new mining operations in as little as 5 minutes! This mining vehicle is designed to fold and be air transported using CSSACT, and quick swapping ISO compatible ore containers without stopping to unload.

It can be spawned from any small airfield, large airfield, and garage workbenches. Recommended spawn location for career mode is DLC desert garage, or the TT Coastguard Base if not using DLC. Costs $50k in career mode, mining rate is about 90 minerals per minute.

*Note: A fresh download of the CSSACT Air Transport from the workshop is recommended, as it's been recently updated for softer landing

Operating Procedure See Video

1.Mining Vehicle
  1. Spawn in the Mining Vehicle
  2. Climb Into Cabin, and press 6 to unfold from transport position
  3. Drive it out of the vehicle creation area and press 6 again to fold into transport position
  4. Spawn CSSACT, unfold and drive it over the mining vehicle to dock with it
  5. Set a waypoint near a mining location, and enter into CSSACT's autopilot to go there
Note that you can interact with the GPS and Autopilot button from the front of the cockpit, outside the vehicle, so you don't have to go with it.

2.Ore Container
  1. Spawn in the Mineral Container
  2. Spawn another CSSACT, unfold and drive it over the mineral container to dock with it
  3. Set a waypoint about 20 meters from the landing zone of the mining vehicle and enter into the cockpit autopilot to go there.
If you are playing in career mode, you might have to obtain more diesel to fill the second CSSACT
It is recommended you ride on the second CSSACT

3. Setup
  1. After arriving, press Hotkey 4 to Undock from the Mineral Container
  2. Go to the first CSSACT and undock from the mining vehicle
  3. Go to mining vehicle, unfold, raise the drill, then dock with the ore container

4. Mining
  1. Drive over any mineral patch and press space to toggle drill
  2. Mineral content of the container can be viewed through a dial in the mining machine's cabin
  3. might take a while to fill up
Note that wheel brakes are engaged while drilling

5. Unloading
  1. Position an empty mineral container under the unloading funnel of the refinery
  2. Use the spotlights on the mineral container to help you line up with funnel above
  3. Undock mining vehicle from the mineral container,
  4. Use the CSSACT to take the loaded mineral container to the refinery
  5. You can use a button inside the cockpit of the CSSACT to order the container funnels to unload

Note that mining operation requires several vehicles, costing a total of ~$70k in career mode.

An outdated version of the same mining vehicle. I think it didn't have enough traction to stay parked on slopes, so I switched to tracks.

What is the green truck in screenshot 8?

you mean for the mineral crates? or the mining vehicle.

The crates unload to the front and back depending whether front or back button is pressed. The vehicle unloads into the middle, meant to be unloaded into the mineral crate that can dock into the middle.

@jerryfanfan where is the unloading area?

Explodes when landing automatically. Manually landing only works sometimes

When I use the flying vehicle that can transport this, it wants to go backwards in the air, forcing me to use the horiz thrust, but then it barely moves.

1. sometimes the drill gets stuck in the full down position
2. you should make a train car to transport this!

Problem, I have noticed it is so easy to accidentally catch fire.

I too noticed this - it does pull slightly to the right. When it gets really low on fuel, it seems like only the left side wheels / tracks actually work. Gets worse when it runs low on fuel, keeping it topped up seems to help!

you mean W pulls slightly to the right? or just make it turn right without going forward?
It seems to have something to do with the delay that torque passes through pivots and sliders being removed. I made an update which should compensate for this.
