Silenced Ranch Rifle -- Back 4 Blood

The following mod replaces the default Hunting Rifle with the silenced version of the Ranch Rifle that you see in Back 4 Blood.

This mod comes with proper working attachments, working world model, custom HUD icon and it uses a port by yours truly of the original Left 4 Dead Hunting Rifle animations as base because I think they look nice, with an extra bonus on top.

For this mod I've decided to give porting a whole weapon's animset a shot. I was originally gonna use Rain's and Zyphr's port of the L4D1 Hunting Rifle and call it a day, which would've significantly cut down the time it took to make this mod but then I decided I wanted to give the mod a different reload animation to help it stand out.

The reload animation you see here is a recreation of the Hunting Rifle reload animation from the Left 4 Dead beta, segments of it still exist in the game's files so it's possible to piece them back together into the game in a working and usable state. I had no luck working with the decompiled files from Rain's and Zyphr's mod so I had to resort to the next best thing, port everything by myself.

These animations have been altered to fit the proportions of the Ranch Rifle and will no longer match the Hunting Rifle's proportions! However, seeing as I now have a working version of these files it's possible for me to simply put these animations without any further alterations onto the vanilla Hunting Rifle if requested. While these animations are edited (mostly just the reload animation), if you happen to find a model that matches these proportions and would like to use these animations for that please feel free to do so, just keep in mind the Ranch Rifle's proportions!

As well as this, an unsilenced version of this mod will be released in the future. I just want to leave this mod out in the workshop for a few days before releasing a different version seeing as I already had to release three different add-ons for this mod and I don't want to spam the workshop.

Another detail worth mentioning is that the shading method this mod uses is similar to what's used in Left 4 Dead 1, meaning it uses a custom texture and not a map's existing cubemaps to give off reflections (asides from the scope), this so that if a custom map has wonky cubemaps then this weapon doesn't look like butts.

While this port isn't as clean as ports by other members of the community (for example, this port doesn't carry over L4D1 bones and instead uses what already exists in the L4D2 rig [since I didn't look into how to do it]) I think it came out pretty well and I'm overall satisfied by both what I learned while making this mod and the quality of it, hopefully you think the same too.

One final thing, I figured the reload sounds I used for this mod may not be everyone's cup of tea, so for this add-on and this add-on only I've packed the firing sound and the reload sounds separately. Use both if you'd like, or use one or the other, or use your own, the world is your oyster.

Known bugs:

• World model has been heavily decimated (as this model is normally over 27k polygons) so there may be a couple seams here and there.
