Description



DESCRIPTION

This mod aims to complete and expand the official Ogre lore by adding loreful units while taking some liberties and artistic licence in the process. We tried to choose the best units based on diversity, usefulness on the battlefield and overall fun, while not overcrowding the ogre camp dilemma.

COMPATIBILITY

- Will be incompatible with any mod that changes the ogre camp script (wh2_twa05_ogre_camp.lua).
- Includes slightly rebalanced Ogre Leadbelchers by Snek.
- All units are balanced for vanilla.
- Should be save game compatible, but ogre camps that have already spawned might not work properly. Needs further testing to be completely sure, as some people reported the dilemma not triggering for them when adding the mod to an ongoing campaign.
- Compatible with Mod Configuration Tool, allowing you to adjust a couple of settings.

NOTES

- All of the units and lords are available in campaign to all factions (human & AI-controlled) via the ogre camp mechanic.
- This mod adds the Ogre Kingdoms faction in Custom Battles (NO playable Ogre faction in campaign for now). Creating a full faction for campaign with a complete unit roster, tech, rites, faction mechanics etc. literally takes hundreds of hours and is simply not worth the effort so close to the release of Total Warhammer 3.
- If any player is bankrupt for 3 successive turns, all ogre units will be removed from their armies. Unless the ogre generals are immortal, they will leave as well and might even start a mutiny (70% chance to spawn a rebel army).
- The new magic lore "Lore of the Great Maw" mostly consists of different vanilla spells with small adjustments. Spell icons and stats are not final.

I see that it lets me 'recruit' them at the camps, but they don't seem to appear anywhere and I can't spawn them via recruit lords or through the ogre reinforcements thing all armies have.

I know from experience that that can indeed happen, but I don't have a mod that alters Goblin textures.

@Shadow_Volkamon: The goblin units are straight from the base game, we don't touch their stats or textures so I think this issue is from another mod.

Nice. Only thing keeping me from using it is that it seems their Goblin units have missing textures.

The mod is really incredible, what bothers me a bit and I think it should be changed is the line of army skills of the ogre lords, so that they are generic improvements that allow these 2 types of ogre lords to fit into any faction (an improvement to all melee infantry, one for ranged infantry/cavalry, one for cavalry and chariots, one for general monstrous units, and one for artillery). I'm playing a campaign with norsca and it's a bit annoying that these ogre lords don't buff my norscan units at all; if I want to get the most out of them I would have to use these ogre lords in armies made up mostly of mercenary ogres, which is difficult as well as less fun. For the rest, the mod is fantastic :D I hope I'm not annoying with this comment xd
