BRF Bratronice

Description
Raketová Základna (Rocket Defense Base) Bratronice is former ČSLA site located 30km west of the Czech capital Prague. Today the RZ Bratronice is used for recreational purposes by communities of airsofters and post apocalyptic LARPers.

The map was created to test and gain experience points in finnishing up all aspects of proper(ish) terrain making. This was done to get better idea of what I'll need to do and what should I think about as I'm working on bigger, better terrain.

Size: 1024x1024m
Cell size: 2m

Future Plans:
The map will be updated should new bugs be discovered. I'll alse try to fix/improve some smaller things once I figure out how and have nothing else Arma related to work on.

Known bugs and shortcomings:
- The layer's .rvmat files don't seem to work properly, resulting in weird looking asphalt surface
- The area outside of the RZ itself is rather bland

Special thanks to:
- PMC Editing team for their guides on terrain making
- Jakerod for the Atlas: Guide to ArmA 3 Terrain Making
- pennyworth12345 for his guides on GitHub
- Adanteh for the splendid Plopper
- The community in #terrain-makers on Arma 3 Discord for answering my dumb questions
- The modding community and the players for keeping my interest in this game over the years.
- Bohemia Interactive for making this possible

This addon is licensed under APL-SA: https://www.bohemia.net/community/licenses/arma-and-dayz-public-license-share-alike-adpl-sa

I don't really care about the license or what you do with this addon, but I thought I'll include it, since this addon includes original Bohemia Interactive's files licensed under APL, or something.

Also I'm not sure if you actually have to license this thing somewhere, or if just saying so makes it licensed. I hope the former case is true.

Oh. And beerware, it's also licensed under beerware. That's the license I actually care about.

While implementing this area into my current project crossed my mind, it would be difficult to implement properly due to the difference in cell size between this terrain and the terrain I’m currently working on. I might consider returning to this terrain and touching up few places, adding more detail, etc, if one day I happen to be bored and drunk enough.

However once I release my current project I’ll be moving onto Arma Reforger. It should be easier to implement this area into another terrain in that game and should also allow for quite believable underground areas. If someone takes the time and makes objects for those underground bunkers. Which seems to be easier with the new tools.

Hello again, Brewer. I have written a comment once, but that was quite a long time ago. I support the previous request about finishing this amazing project of yours. I am not going to give up until I see it done because I really like it and appreciate your great work on it. You can either finish this small map with more assets around the main base, or just place the entire base on a different map created by you. You can add more vegetation, plants, trees etc. on a bigger scale so we could have a finished map, but in that case you'll need to create at least one more or several more points of interest so that people create scenarios. Tell me about your thoughts and expectations about the future of the project, please, and make us happy in the new year!

Hopefully we'll see by the end of the month.

Shame this map never got a proper update- although small, has a lot of detail to it- furnished.
Hopefully you're still working on terrains- would be interesting to see what you could make of a larger terrain.
