Hive Skull Battle Carrier (Pirate)

Opis
Designed to look like a fighter and equipped with a sophisticated electronic warfare package the Hive Skull deceives enemy sensors into thinking that it is much closer, slower, and smaller than it is. This combined with the natural difficulty of judging size in space by eye allows the Hive Skull to fool its prey into thinking they are dealing with a lone fighter when in fact it’s a fully armed battle carrier. This deception is further augmented by their captains’ tendency to fly erratically to “avoid” the flack they’re well out of range of using the ships high speed and maneuverability. This causes their victims to realize to late that they should have run. For now, they are within range of its fighters, plasma cannon and railguns and death is imminent.

In addition to the electronic warfare, the Have Skull uses another trick to sell the fighter illusion. The bow of the ship is actually a hollowed out holograph projection that allows cannons and the hanger slots to be concealed underneath while not interfering with operation and accommodating a good forward firing arc. To add simply switch block visibility to hull and add your weapons no other hull is on the ship.

Equipped with 24 hanger slots it can launch it full 120 fighters in seconds it is also fully armored and equipped with powerful shields.

A few cool tricks with this build: In addition to the many thin fighter slots facing the main hanger and the hollowed-out hologram I also covered the large engines with a darkly colored glow block, thus significantly reducing that obnoxious screen glare from the engines.

I’m trying to make a complete set of pirate themed ships so please check out; the Gaboon ambush carrier, Dire Wolf Raider, Draugr fighter, Bilge Rat Salvager, and Karambit starting ship.

Tech Specks

Important note: it is highly advised to modify the entire ship to Trinium when enough is available doing so will significantly improve the performance. That will take about 362K to do. After that continue to upgrade energy systems with more advanced materials as they become available doing so will yield a very powerful ship. With more advanced materials and a few (aka 2) shield upgrades it is easy to get 150K hull and over a million shields along with 25 to 30 turrets.
