The End of the Sun este un joc de mister, de aventură și poveste, jucat din perspectivă la persoana întâi, situat în lumea fantastică a credințelor, legendelor și creaturilor mitologice slave. Micuțul sat devine un loc al unor evenimente enigmatice, prin care linia dintre mit și realitate începe să se estompeze periculos.

Ca ashter, un vrăjitor înțelept slav înzestrat cu abilitatea de a călători în timp și cu cunoștințe despre lumea de dincolo, urmărind urma fugarului neobișnuit, ajungi într-un sat misterios. Din păcate, nu poți găsi pe nimeni acolo, cel puțin nu în modul în care te așteptai. Tot ce poți vedea în jurul tău sunt vetre arse.

Jocul este inspirat de mitologia și legendele slave. Povestea prezintă evenimentele misterioase care au loc în timpul principalelor festivaluri slave în toate cele patru anotimpuri, departe unele de altele în timp. Gameplay-ul este un amestec de jocuri de explorare și aventuri misterioase cu ghicitori neconvenționale de rezolvat, însă povestea are prioritate aici.
