What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This game is made by a single developer with limited time and resources. Early Access establishes a healthy agreement between myself and the audience that the game may change between launch - where unpredictable issues and conditions may arise, and completion - where we all want the game to be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly 1-2 years of post-launch development should be enough to bring the game out of Early Access. This is subject to change but that's the target.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“There's a lot of potential for new maps and game modes, feature and multiplayer improvements, accessibility options, and compatibility such as gamepad and Steam deck support.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In it's launch state, Skyfear is a playable arena shooter experience. All listed features and content in the About section of the game are in the game and working at this time.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There are no plans to change the game's price after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be taking in as much player feedback as possible and be transparent with the community about the development and release cycle of the game.”

About This Game

PLAY YOUR WAY

Skyfear is an arena shooter game like no other. In the spirit and style of genre-defining shooters of the early 2000s videogame era, Skyfear hosts a variety of ways to play centered around the core arena gameplay. With flying mechanics inspired by the aerial agility of bats, Skyfear puts you in control of a prehistoric wyvern ready to fight other wyverns with fire and blood. Breath fire, shoot fire bolts, dodge and roll mid-air, launch special ability attacks, and make use of physical trait perks that suit a variety of playstyles. Play battles with standard rules, or customize your own.

A GAME FOR LONE WOLF OR PACKS

While offering multiplayer capabilities, Skyfear also offers full support for offline play as a single player. Play offline battles versus dynamic AI opponents and continue to earn in-game progress. AI difficulty and features can be adjusted.
