“Our goal in early access is primarily to collect feedback from our Steam players in order to support the improvement and expansion of the game in order to continue to grow our community.”

  • Reus-class medium fighter with 3 variants: Comet, Shooting Star, Thunderbolt

  • Pegasus-class assault transport with 3 variants: Spectre, Spooky, Shadow

ShipFrame Editor to customize the loadout, appearance, and name of each of your fighters

BloodSport Mode: arena-style multiplayer combat featuring Assault, Conquest and Team Deathmatch modes, each supporting up to 5v5

Nuclear-Powered Multiplayer Space Combat

At its core In The Black ™ is an intense multiplayer team-based online space combat simulator with a laser-like focus on the combat and a serious respect for science. This earned the Atomic Rocket's Seal of Approval.

Set in our own solar system 200 years in the future, players are private military contractors (mercenaries) hired by the megacorporations to fight their covert wars for control of the system’s resources.

The Impeller Studios team is led by industry veterans Jack Mamais (MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries, Far Cry, and Crysis) and David Wessman (the X-Wing / TIE Fighter series, Blood Wake, and Saints Row).

We're all hardcore gamers ourselves. We believe games should be skill-based and intrinsically rewarding. And we really like the idea of flying nuclear-powered rockets through the rings of Saturn to engage in explosive high tech mayhem!
