The year is 2004 and it is the future. In an alternate, totalitarian future ruled by the enigmatic Queen of Ice, every citizen is required by law to use artificial intelligence. In this fractured society, the line between machine and human is blurred. AI creates. AI watches. AI governs.

You are a simple office clerk wandering through a broken world where synthetic art has replaced human imagination. You collect ICE — fragments of lost identity — from defeated enemies. You question reality as you rise through the corrupted layers of a world addicted to automation.

AbstractPunk isn’t just a chaotic blend of souls‑like, boomer‑shooter FPS, 3D platformer, RPG, and roguelike — it’s a punk‑anti‑philosophical journey that explores the obsession and fear surrounding AI.

In AbstractPunk Demo, AI was used for speech synthesis — a stylistic choice inspired by Evil Indie Games’ earlier title, NO THING. AI also generated many character voices and sounds. Visually, the game features a surreal collage style composed of both human-made assets and AI-generated synthetic artificial elements and distortions, blending into a chaotic aesthetic that reflects the world’s unraveling structure.

Just like the world it portrays, AbstractPunk doesn’t give simple answers. It invites players to reflect, question, and challenge their own assumptions — not only through gameplay, but through its very construction.
