Demo Update v1.8.3.7b

Hi guys,

I've updated the demo, and with that, there are some serious improvements to the fluidity of combat. I've gone back to the drawing board to more closely match the "feel" of Elden Ring's combat. With that in mind, there's still some jank, but the changes are as follows:

Faster stamina re-gen with less delay after performing actions.
Speed increase on all weapons.
Re-animation and retiming of short sword attacks.
Re-animation and retiming of great sword attacks.
Complete overhaul of strong attacks, now allowing you to charge them for additional impact.
Less delay when pressing roll and quicker exit of attack animations.
Greater level of rotation between attacks, allowing for more fluid and less clunky combat.
Better hitstop effect keeps gameplay feeling heavy without being jarring.
New jump attacks for both fast and strong attack presses.
Plunging attacks when falling at a sufficient speed (very satisfying to land).

With this in mind, there will need to be additional balancing, as with the more fluid combat, the game does now feel a little easier - especially in Havoc mode.

Additionally, Chain magic has been improved, providing better balance and 2 skills that can be used in the demo:

Fire Chain: Allows you to instantly kill wrapped enemies and deal fire damage to other enemies that come into contact with the chain.
Whirlwind: Spin your partner around using the analogue stick or movement keys to damage and trip all enemies that get caught in their path. Very chaotic but funny when it works (and also when it doesn't).

Finally, I've brought havoc mode (both 3 and 4 player) mostly up to speed with the standard 2 player mode. With that in mind, due to the extra chains that need to be simulated, performance is a little worse. There are also a few bugs which appear to be worse in havoc mode - notably the chain getting stuck on geometry. So nearly there, but still some work to do.

Just as a final disclaimer, I have noticed a slight decrease in performance on this latest build, which I will be investigating soon to bring performance to better-than-ever levels. Expect updates to the demo itself to be less frequent, as I am shifting development to finalise the remaining content of the full game.

10,000 Wishlists

We've finally hit our first major milestone of 10,000 wishlists. Thank you to all the future players and supporters of development. This is what gives me motivation to work extra hard to deliver on the game's promise. Now that the demo is in a mostly stable spot, I'll be shifting focus back to finishing the rest of the game.

There are a ton of new features planned, including:

Chain magic and more physics-based combat, expect some seriously wacky shenanigans.

Destruction physics.

New minibosses and enemies.

General combat improvements and more "weight" to larger weapons.

Roguelite/hardcore challenge mode.

Local PvP.

Arena mode, for endless waves of chaos.

Trident mode - 3 player.

10,000 wishlists is an amazing achievement, but there is still a long road ahead. Please keep sharing the game with all your friends and wishlist it together! Spread the word so our community can grow, and stay tuned for future beta tests of the full game.

Demo Update v1.8.1.7b Tiny Teams Build

Hi all,

Once again, the demo has seen some major changes, including new features, bug fixes, balance changes, chain physics adjustments, as well as overall quality of life improvements.

Some of these changes include:

Major overhaul of havoc mode, making it a more playable experience for 4 players.

Major GPU, CPU, and RAM optimizations, meaning the Demo is now mostly playable on the Steam Deck (Using Potato Settings). UI scaling and inputs still need work to be fully Steam Deck-ready.

Introduction of Chain Magic - currently allows a flammable chain to be used at the end of the demo.

Improvements to chain physics consistency and predictability.

Still to improve:

Balancing in Havoc mode to make it more difficult, in line with the regular 2-player experience.

Enemy AI behaviours - fixing/reducing the "run off cliffs" issue (maybe still keeping it a little bit since it's pretty funny when it happens only occasionally).

Trident mode (3-player) needs a complete overhaul to be functional.

Further optimisation and primarily reduction of RAM usage.

Chain length stat to allow the levelling up of the total chain length.

Remappable controls (and a rework of the default mouse and keyboard scheme).

I finished the Demo with a friend in an hour, and unless there are some really hidden paths, I would say we did everything the Demo has to offer. This feedback will sound a bit heavy on the negative side, so I apologize in advance for that. The Game is presented as a chained Souls-like. But it is far from a Souls-like. It is more a chained together with combat. Because if you die, there is no punishment. You keep all your progress and just respawn at the last "bonfire". It should not be ...

Review: Игра сделана из говна и палок, шаблоны спижены с chained together суть игры сдедалана как в дарк соул. Движок ♥♥♥♥♥, пофанитьс явроде бы можно, но страдать от кринжа - я, например, не готов. Игра будто сделана студентами для сдачи предмета. Как такое можно было выпустить - хз....
