What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'm publishing early access because I have a lot more I want to do with Kollectomaniac!

I plan to continue to update the game in my free time, and some parts are still inaccessible or unfinished.

However, when it comes to the main "gameplay loop", there is more to the game than on its surface.

During beta-testing, the simple one-control, clicker-style game makes this a fun game for non-gamers and enjoyable for those who play many games, like me!

I've been game designing for almost ten years and have no plans of slowing down!

Although I can't promise any Major Updates, I have so many ideas for Kollectomaniac that I still want to add before the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current version of the game is 1.7.0 as of 2/10/2025.

I started working on this game solo on 10/7/2025 when I drew the first game concepts.

My "team" for the game is only me, Akmac. As well as some friends and family who playtest the game for bugs and give suggestions for QoL or Funny Easter Eggs!

I still have many ideas I want to add to the game, I hope to have a full release by Q4 2025!

But depending on the scope of the game I choose there is a good chance it will arrive a few months later or sooner than Q4 2025, but the plan is to be able to publish a full release by Q4 2025.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Full Version of the game plans, but does not promise to include the following:
- An exploration system
- A Bus to travel using tickets
- 6 Main Areas Including:
- The Grove/The Forest
- The Pond
- The Quarry
- The ???
- The Museum
- The Lindwood Bustop
- 9 Puzzle Boxes
- A Soup brewing system
- More ways to collect any of the "36" items
- Item bundles
- 3 New characters
- An organ selling & buying system
- A fishing mechanic
- The Maple Leaf Bandit
- Random "lightning events"
- Other ways to die or "lose a run/save"
- More shop items
- More weather events
- 9 Walker soup Gifts
- 2 Mini-games (Based on old "Akmac Games")
- More weather types
- And So Much More!

Please be patient because there is currently only one developer, artist, composer, and mixer for this game: Akmacdondon”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“After many many many playtests, there are very few known bugs in Kollectomaniac!
If I hear of finding a bug, it goes on my Dev-Log in the public discord & gets patched in the update.

However, there are many hidden/secret features or/and areas in the game that I've either:
A. Not Finished but still accessible, one can cause "Softlocks", which force you to close the game to continue.
or
B. Not made accessible yet, but should be fully complete by the game's release.

The main gameplay loop of Kollectomanaic currently has no known major or minor bugs!

The current rogue-like gameplay of Kollectomaniac is simple:

0. (Optional) You can enter a seed, which determines the outcome of random events, or you can leave it blank and the game will auto-generate a seed from 10000-99999

1. On a new save you start on day 0, the tutorial day! You buy as much as you can and then you buy the "Display Stand" which allows you to buy and sell items!

2. After each day of buying and selling, you head over to the shop! A weird worm sells you strange items that can improve your shop!

3. At the end of every day you get a day summary, your game saves then you can either save & exit or continue.

4. Every four days, you must pay "Collection Day", this is an exponentially increasing amount of money based on what day you're on!

5. There is no real "goal" to the game other than seeing how far you can get each time!
Each day lasts a little more than two minutes, once the clock on your desk makes a full loop; the day is over and you must go to the shop next!

Notes: You must pay to continue playing, if you fail a "Collection Day", your save file gets wiped and you have to start all over again! :D

Each run is different, the seed does determine the prices and personality of all nine walkers before anything else, however, to confirm you get the same outcome each time, you must do the same actions. i.e.: Buying the same items, putting the same items up for sale, selling the same items, buying the same stuff from the shop, etc!

Please Enjoy, Kollectomaniac!
For additional information on the currently added features, please check the "About This" section of the steam store page <3”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Most likely.

Prices will most likely change when we leave early access.

There will be no price raises during early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I love seeing people talk about my game in any form!

You can email me bug submissions, there will soon be an official Kollectomanaic discord, Reddit, and community page for any Fan Art, Secrets found, Strategies, or bugs in the game.

There are very few games I've brought to full public access, and I will always look towards the community for suggestions, feedback, and bugs found in Kollectomaniac!”
