What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Probably the same as for any Indi Dev - Player feedback.
My testing "team" is very small, and the biggest problem right now is, if we test Chapters multiple times - it will never be the same as the experience of someone playing the game for the first time.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current plan is for the base (normal + Hardmode) version of the game to be finished by the end of 2024.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final game will be around 30 Chapters and currently 13 Chapters are finished and Chapters 14-15 a about 60% done.

There is also a plan for Character Voice lines.
Each playable character should have some voice lines to give them more life.

The final version should also have a Map/CampaignEditor at some point to create Challenge Chapters or Missions - or even full Stories (this will most likely be released as additional content).

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now the first 13 Chapters a finished (maybe very small changes are possible or needed)
Chapters 14 is playable, but they are missing story parts and triggers.

Some Character Art is missing Shading/Shadows, most Characters have the base design and color work is finished, but the shading is missing or unfinished.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Right now there is a plan to raise the price with/after new content is added.

The current price should be not too far off the final price.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'm planning to listen to any feedback possible (mail, discord, steam community).

The most important feedback right now is the First time playing experience (hard to test with a fixed testing team).

Especially if it comes to quality of life, accessibility and game controls/inputs there should be a very high chance that suggestions will be implemented in some way or form.”

About This Game

Story:

Mysterious towers have appeared in the world of Atuhm.
These towers are a connection between worlds and people have started to venture into them seeking adventurs, power or fame.

But the towers bear a dark secret, that waits to be uncovered...

About the Game:

Resonating Worlds is a Turn-based strategy game, with a lot of Character customization and progression (Level ups + Skill Tree and or Items).

While playing the game the player has to complete Chapters/Missions, most Chapters/Missions try to be a bit different with new Mission Objectives Enemies or Events, trying to keep the gameplay experience exciting.

But please keep in mind: The goal with Resonating Worlds is not to be the hardest game, but to be an enjoyable experience.
Even the Hardmode (*unfinished - will be released after all Chapters are completed) will try to not just bump up all "stats" on enemies, but to introduce/add or add more Mission Objectives, making it harder to get all Items or complete all Mission Objectives (resulting in less exp/power for the playable Characters).

Gameplay:

The Core Gameplay is Grid-based.

Each Chapter/Mission has an Objective (or multiple) that needs to be completed to finish the Chapter.
These can be simple like "Defeat all Enemies" or "Defeat the Boss", but sometimes these can be more complicated, like protecting a Character, reaching a location or just surviving for a specific number of Turns.

Depending on your performance, you will be able to unlock Bonus Experience and other Rewards, that can be used after the Chapter to further strengthen your Characters.

Characters:

While playing the game you will find/control many different Characters, which have basic stats like strength, magic or hitpoints.

When a Character Levels up, these stats will increase and additionally, the player can choose between Skills that mold the character in different directions.

Each Character has a Skilltree or something that makes the Character unique or stand out from the Cast.
Skills can be simple like e.g. an increase to base Stats or more complicated like active Skills that can be use like the “Entrap” Skill that can teleport/move an Enemy Unit next to you.

Characters can also carry Weapons and Consumable Items.
These Items will never run out or be destroyed, but they may have limited use/charges during each Chapter/Mission (charges will be restored after each Chapter).
