Why Early Access?

“THRILLKINGS is a labor of love made by one developer without external influence or support, and Early Access represents an opportunity to put the game on the hands of as many players as soon as possible. This will allow us to further improve and polish the game based on all the feddback that we can gather, and to evaluate and include new features and content during the next year before our official 1.0 release.

This game is a passion project that we are personally very excited to share, and for all the people that find the game fun and exciting, and share the same deep passion for FPS games, we want to make THRILLKINGS the best game it can possibly be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current goal is for a full release at the end of 2025, with the objective of adding more maps, weapons, game modes (and some very exciting extra features that are still under work), and keep polishing the game even further with the help of the community while under Early Access. We will be sharing a more detailed roadmap here on Steam and in our Discord so please stay tuned!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Because of the size of the team, one important aspect of the project is to avoid scope creep and to focus all time and energy into the features that are fun and that matter the most to the players. The next points are part of the plan for the next year and beyond the official final release, but depending on what the community asks for, these could vary on priority:

  • A good amount of maps are necessary for any healthy FPS. After the initial EA launch we are planning a cadence of map releases during the next year.
  • New weapons are under development, this will be released first through the Beta channel for the Steam application, and released to the Main channel as soon as they feel good and fun to use.
  • Drivable combat vehicles (called "Thrills" ingame) are a core aspect of the game's design, so the idea is to expand the game with more, and push new game modes that make use of them in more imaginative ways by all players in a match.
  • More Quality-of-Life updates. The game currently allows for custom public lobbies, but we are planning to release private lobbies and other "In Match" options like vote kick a few months after EA release. Dedicated server files need extra time for development but they currently are high priority.
  • Polish and polish and polish!

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game currently has 8 weapons on Early Access, 3 maps, 3 game modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and King Of The Thrill; and 2 "Thrills" or drivable combat vehicles that can be used on any of those maps and game modes.

The game uses the Steam API for matchmaking, so it will be released with the options to create lobbies and search for matches inside the game, and the expected configuration settings for video, sound and keyboard/mouse. The game will also offer support and mapping for Xbox controller soon after EA release.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be free to play on Early Acess, with no current plans to change pricing after release, and it will support itself with cosmetics and other future content that will not be Pay-To-Win or that could divide the community.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Without people this game would not be possible, and we really want to incorporate all players into the development process. We have an official Discord page for the game that we strongly suggest to join and help grow.

About This Game

THRILLKINGS is a fast-paced arena first-person shooter, inspired by games from the early 2000s, where mastering your character's movement and controlling all available arsenal is the key to total dominance.

  • Play on a variety of modes like classic Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, plus new modes like King of The Thrill, where players compete to hold control of the "Thrill", a capture point that serves also as a drivable combat vehicle and can be used and exploited as a deadly weapon.

  • Move at full speed with classic mechanics like bunny hopping, strafe jumping, rocket jumps, and precise air control which allows total 360° vertical view rotation in first person.

  • Jump and move even faster with the Impulse Rifle, which allows you to grab objects around your environment and use them as projectiles, and change trajectory in a matter of seconds.

  • Enjoy playing competitive with friends Online, or with Local Area Network support for old school LAN parties.
