Shoot and shift color in this short-run psychedelic action roguelite, in which you’ve committed a terrible sin. The closer you are to your enemies in color, the more vulnerable they are to you.

Kill quickly! Battle brings on the darkness, causing more dangerous foes to appear. When the darkness is full, panic begins…

Level up by color

Level up between battles in color-specific ways. For example, you might choose a yellow-centric defense boost, a cyan-centric increase to your rate of fire and a magenta-centric footspeed boost.

As you shift color, then, so will your stats. What color will you choose at a given moment of battle?

Enter ultraviolet and infrared mode

In the panic of full darkness, you may suddenly find yourself outside the standard color spectrum. Rain destruction upon your foes while ultraviolet, or face the peril of instant death while infrared!

Atone for your sin

Win battles to earn penance points, which you can spend on blessings, and work towards your ultimate goal of a full confession by taking on burdens that make your run harder in various ways. At the end of each run, unspent penance points contribute towards unlocking new blessings.

Hear colorful music

By changing your color, you change the game’s music. A cyan piano becomes a yellow yueqin or magenta music box as you move through the spectrum of visible hues.

Enjoy colorblind support

Chromocide accommodates colorblind vision by helping you tell how close you are to your enemies in color. The closer you are, the more visible their health bars are.
